Star wide receiver Terrell Owens, who has a nagging groin injury, sat out the Niners' 17-14 victory at Arizona last Saturday. He may be on the sidelines again this week and quarterback Jeff Garcia doesn't figure to play much.

Already without quarterback Kurt Warner, the Rams also will not have backup Marc Bulger, who suffered a back injury in last Sunday's 30-10 loss at Seattle. Third-stringer Jamie Martin also suffered a left knee injury late in the fourth quarter against Seattle.

If Martin is unable to play, Scott Covington, who was released by the Cincinnati Bengals during the presason, would start.
