My schizoid season continued last week. I went 5-1 in CFB but the loss was on my first 3* of the year. My unbelievably snakebitten NFL season got worse as I went 0-3, losing a 2* by a 1/2 point and another play in the last 20 seconds. My college card is strong; I'll only throw out one play in the NFL as I'm just not winning there this year.
Wednesday:
2* Central Michigan -16 1/2
CM scores lots of points and Toledo can't play defense. This is CM's first home game after THREE in a row on the road. They are the class of the MAC and will jump at the chance for a blowout on national TV. Toledo lost last game to miserable Miami-OH.
Thursday:
1* Bowling Green -3
As stated above, Miami of Ohio is just awful. They're now 1-9 and likely to be down after almost pulling off an upset at Temple. Bowling Green has won its last three road games and has a good QB in Tyler Sheehan.
Saturday:
2* Kansas State -1
I love this one. Old man Bill Snyder has turned K-State around in just a half season back at the helm. They beat in-state rival Kansas last week and their only conference losses were on the road to powerhouses Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Missouri has lost four of five, is showing inexperience down the stretch, and couldn't even beat Baylor at home last week. This line makes no sense: K-State is 4-2 in the conference and at home while Missouri is only 1-4. (I may upgrade this play to an even higher rating.)
1* Wisconsin -8 1/2
What a great situational set-up: Michigan plays archrival Ohio State at home in the season finale next week and is shot after last week's wild two point loss at home to Purdue. Meanwhile, this is Wisconsin's last home game in a much better than expected season. Badgers offense is tremendous right now and they are one of the best in the country at stopping the run. Possible blowout.
