  • CFB Saturday; Biggest Play So Far

    CFB YTD 21-17 -0.2 units
    2* 3-5 -5.0 units
    1* 18-12 +4.8 units
    CFB/NFL Combined 28-30 -9.8 units
    2* 5-8 -7.6 units
    1* 22-22 -2.2 units

I went 4-2 last weekend in CFB including a win on my only 2* play. This is in contrast to an awful run in the NFL where my picks have been either bad or unlucky, a very bad combination.
I'll post NFL later in this thread.

    3* SMU -17 1/2
This is my strongest play so far this season. SMU is getting better every game in June Jones' second year and just whipped Tulsa on the road. Rice can't stop the run which is a big problem because they can't stop the pass either. They are giving up a shocking amount of points. The only thing stopping me from making this a 4* GOY is that Rice is off the bye and might be a little improved (I doubt it). SMU QB Mitchell is questionable but the backup led the way to last week's upset. The big story is SMU's defense which shut down Tulsa's strong offense and did a better job against Houston the week before than anybody has all season. An emerging team gets a chance for its first laugher in ages and will destroy an awful Rice team.

    2* Miami-Florida -13 1/2
Miami had a nice road win last week at Wake Forest after losing a heartbreaker to an excellent Clemson team the week before. Miami has an excellent offense and should score 30 in the return home. That'll be enough because Virginia can't score (only 26 combined last two weeks at home against Duke and Georgia Tech).

    1* NC State -6 1/2
NC State finally showed signs of life in a road loss to Florida State last week and comes home against a very weak Maryland team that's lost three in a row.

    1* Oklahoma State -7 1/2
Iowa State was smacked on the road last week by A & M, a team Okla State would crush. There's a huge talent edge here for the Cowboys and overachieving Iowa State will start to wear down in November.

    1* Kansas State +3
Get this now. K-State may be favored by Saturday. Snyder is turning this program around and can make a major statement by beating its in-state rival. K-State has played three excellent games in a row including a respectable loss last week at Oklahoma. Kansas gives up at least 35 points every week.

    1* Stanford +6 1/2
Oregon is the most surprising team in the country but is very likely to letdown on the road after the huge home win over USC. Stanford gets bowl eligible with a win and comes off a shellacking of Arizona State.

    Opinion only:
    Florida
    Hawaii
    Florida Atlantic

    Yikes Gris.

I had a few games circled so far and they are the exact opposite of the ones youve played which is scary. First I like Rice as a team who can score some points and catches an inflated line vs an overvalued Rice team this week.

Second was Maryland. I played NC St last week vs Florida St and this week Im looking to fade them again as a team I think is overvalued laying less than a TD.

Third was Kansas who I feel is a little undervalued in their matchup with K St who IMO has been playing a little over their head.

I swear I only circled 5 games so far but have yet to play any of them and the others were Fla Atlantic (we agree) but I am scared of playing games in that conference and my last game I was looking at was Miami Ohio on Thursday.

Fairly odd that on a day with all these games we mark the same ones and view them so differently.......I will take a closer look closer to Saturday.

    PEACE

                      Here are my NFL picks:

                      2* Patriots -10 1/2
Belichick off the bye!! Dolphins had only ten first downs in weird win over Jets last week (I had the Jets) and scored almost all their points on turnovers or special teams. New England is still my pick to win the Super Bowl and should come out loaded against a Miami team on the road for the second week in a row.

                      1* 49ers -4
Did Tennessee make a major turnaround last week? I'll say no. 49ers still playing hard and gave Indy a great game last week. Bug edge to a home non-conf team.

                      1* Giants -4
I look for a big rebound after last week's humiliation. Chargers are just listless, can't run and had a very lackluster performance in beating Oakland last week.

                      Opinion only:
                      Bengals

If you're also opposite my NFL picks, you'll make a fortune!

Actually, I love my NFL picks this weekend but I'm in a bad rut there. I stand by my opinion on SMU, Pimp. Rice has an atrocious defense and SMU is getting better every game. Good luck
