Already off to their worst start in 13 years, the Orlando Magic may be without Tracy McGrady when they meet the Denver Nuggets.
Losers of seven straight, the Magic are off to their worst start since losing 17 of their first 18 games to open the 1990-91 season, their second in the league. Orlando hasn't won since opening the season with an overtime win over the New York Knicks.
"I think we're playing better now, and I still believe in this team," Magic coach Doc Rivers said. "But we're two things away from being a good team, mental toughness and closing out quarters."
McGrady had a season-high 36 points, but only two in the fourth quarter as the Magic fell 107-97 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. McGrady limped off in the final seconds with a strained tendon in his right ankle. He is listed as day-to-day.
Magic forward Pat Garrity missed Wednesday's game with a sore right knee. He is questionable for Friday's game.
Nuggets center Marcus Camby is day-to-day with a strained left knee.

Orlando is the only team in the league that has yet to cover a game as the Magic stand 0-8 ATS. But you can be sure Las Vegas will rectify that streak in a heartbeat. It’s not often you have a chance at taking an underdog of this price know the puppy has WON 12 STRAGIHT IN THE SERIES. Tracy McGrady is still the most dominating player on this floor and is finally starting to heat up. McGrady had 36 points in Wednesday’s home defeat to Memphis. This is not a good role for the Nuggets as Denver is 8-23 ATS as a home favorite of 3 ½-6 points since 1996. Should any team that scored 60 at Indiana and 76 at Toronto be a favorite of this price to an annual playoff team? For what it’s worth, Denver is 0-7 ATS since ’96 following back-to-back games in which they attempted 10 or more free throws than their opponent. A league-wide system tells “The Animal” to always play against home favorites that are hitting 43 percent or less of their field goals and come off back-to-back games in which they connected on 39 percent or less from the floor. That system is 37-14 ATS by taking the visitor for 72.5 percent and is time tested (seven years). I won’t go against that despite all the problems Orlando is currently experiencing.
