Still #1 NHL capper at ProCappers.com (a legit monitoring site)!!
Boston Bruins @ Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets are coming off a 5-2 loss at Ottawa and are playing pretty sluggishly as of late. In last night’s trouncing, they managed just 17 SOG while allowing 35. The key for Boston tonight is who starts at goalie; Felix Potvin has been fairly decent with a .908 save %, 2.48 GAA and a record of 3-2-2. The real story is the young Andrew Raycroft who has an astounding 1.88 GAA, a save % of .936 and a record of 5-2-1.
Boston is 6-1-1-1 SU on the road this season and they have an ATS record of 6-2-1 in those games. The Bruins also are 9-3-1 SU in their last 13 games after scoring 3 or more goals. Look for Boston to be a bit more fresh and put some pressure on the Jackets early.
Boston (-115) (-.5) 5*
Tampa Bay Lightning @ Washington Capitals
The Caps beat Tampa Bay in Tampa on 11/4 in a shocker as the #1 defense gave up 5 goals to the lowly Caps. Tampa Bay hasn’t won since 11/8 when they spanked the Penguins 9-0. They’ve managed just 1 goal in their last 2 games. However, this game is a rebound game for Tampa Bay as the Caps are 0-2 after allowing 1 goal in a SU win this season. In the NHL, it’s hard for teams to sweep season series and in the last 3 seasons, teams that lose the first game win the second game 67% of the time. We’ll stick with that trend.
Tampa Bay (+110) (-.5) 5*
Phoenix Coyotes @ Dallas Stars
Phoenix is just 2-4-2 ATS away while Dallas is 5-3-0 ATS at home. The Coyotes have the 3rd worst defense in the NHL allowing 3.1 GPG. Dallas seems to have a knack for beating Phoenix with an all-time mark of 6-2-2. Dallas’ defense at home is 2nd in the NHL allowing 20.3 SOG per game. Dallas has lost 4 straight and Phoenix is coming off a big win at Colorado last night. The Stars will have an added boost tonight as they will play for their HC Dave Tippett who had emergency surgery last night on his neck. We don’t see Dallas losing 5 straight.
Dallas (-180) (-.5) 5*
