Its difficult to explain , its impossible to ignore . This team has won more tournament victories then North Carolina or Indiana in the past five years and seems to have lost its glass slipper tag along the way .
Tonight they open thier season against St. Josephs at the garden and will be quite interesting as a gauge on the upcoming year in progress. Although its a unfavorble early situation these two teams are bound for great seasons , Gonzaga on shear numbers will be deeper than last years squad and especially on the frontcourt where they boast good size and plenty of experience after only losing two seniors last year of which only one started ( Winston Brooks G ) . 4 starters return
St. Joes on the other hand has in my opinion the nations premiere backcourt in Jameer Nelson ( who lit-up Gonzaga last year for 34 points ) and Delonte West and after that they are very deep at the position with plenty of fire power. Whats a little scary is thier inside game which favors Gonzaga here but manys the night I have seen a squad not miss many and if thats the case here rebounds wont really matter much. 3 starters return
ATS = Gonzaga - 16-15-0 / 3-7 as a roady / 12-14 as fav.
ATS = St. Joes - 18-11-0 / 6-7 as a roady / 4-2 as a dog
Points = Gonzaga - 77.5 scored / 69.5 allowed
Points = St. Joes - 70.3 scored / 59.1 allowed
Rumors = Gonzagas Ronny Turiaf might make a cameo apperance , Erroll Knight is hobbled ( both big men )
Rumors = St. Joes = Jim Dandy Fine
Line = Gonzaga ( - 1.5 to 2.5 ) 138.5 total
My opinion = St. Joes + 2.5 *** & over ***
