  • Mizzou's Big 12 Plays of the Week

    10********** Missouri Tigers +3.5

I am going with the Tigers big here. Missouri has outscored Nebraska 93-23 over the past 2 years combined. The Tigers have not lost to a big 12 North opponent in Columbia since 2004, and they have won 20 of their past 22 home games. I see alot of people talking about Missouri's weak schedule, but what about Nebraska's? Illinois, Nevada, and Bowling Green would beat UL Laf, Ark St, and Fla Atl in my opinion. Nebraska has only had 1 test this year, and they FAILED. I don't care if Nebraska should have won the game or not, bottom line is they couldn't punch the ball in the endzone, and they found a way to lose against an overrated Virginia Tech team. Zac Lee struggled mightily on the road as he went 11 of 30 (36% Completion rate) for only 136 yards, No touchdowns and 2 picks! This will be only his 2nd road start of his career, and if it is anything close to last week this game will be a blowout in favor of Mizzou.

I hear about how much improved this years Nebraska team is, but until I see them knock off some good teams I will not consider them a great team. Missouri did lose alot of talent from last years team, but their new players are picking up where they left off. Blaine Gabbert is completing 67% of his passes, and has 11 TD's and 0 Int's in 131 attempts. Missouri has very talented Wide Receivers in Danario Alexander and Jared Perry who are both in the Top 5 in the Big 12 in Receptions and yards per game. MU Sophomore Wes Kemp is 2nd in the league in yards per catch as he is averaging 21.9 yards on 10 receptions. Alot of people think Missouri is unable to run the ball, but I slightly disagree. Missouri hasn't ran the ball as well as I would like them to so far this year, but Washington did manage to rush for 120 yards against Bowling Green and he had a key 42 yard run against Nevada. Last year Washington Rushed for over 1000 yards, and he had 19 touchdowns overall. Don't count Mizzou out just because you think there will be alot of running the ball tonight, they have the ability. The Tigers improve to 5-0 tonight, take the points.
