I love today's game! The Warriors are in Ruston to take on the Bulldogs.
Big news right off the bat is that Hawaii is returning their two starting defensive ends in hopes to generate a pass rush on Jenkins. Hawaii coaching staff has been quoted as saying that the defense is as heathly as it's been all year. I think another matchup to watch is Greg Salas (the nation's best reciever statistically) and company against Tech's two young cornerbacks.
NCAAF
12 units - LOUISIANA TECH -6
8 units - ML Louisiana Tech -240
4 units - Hawaii/ Louisiana Tech o55
I'm taking the Bulldogs and this is why:
So far this year, the strength of schedule is in favor of Tech. That is not up for debate.
Tech's offense is like nothing Hawaii has seen all year. This is not a spread offense like they saw against Washington State and UNLV. This is a smash mouth running team that employs stretches, dives and tosses and then hangs teams out to dry with some killer play action.
I think the return of Hawaii's D-Line will be neutralized by a line returning all 5 starters from last year in Tech.
Expect a big breakout game from Phillip Livas. He will give Hawaii's secondary fits!
I'm taking the over and here's why:
Look at the last 3 meetings between the two teams when they meet in Ruston. They're averaging like 90 points a game!
Last year, Tech was 113th in the country allowing 272.7 passing yards per game.
Hawaii's redzone defense is awful! They have allowed a touchdown in 84% of redzone possessions this year!
Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a great day! I'm off to lunch and I'm gonna try and sneak out of here to watch the 2nd half! Best of Luck guys! Have fun!
