  • NFL Week 2 Picks

First pick of the year. Good luck to all.

    Week 2

    1*: .66-.75 Unit
    2*: 1 Unit
    3*: 1.3-1.5 Units
    4*: 1.5-1.66 Units
    5*: 2+ Units

May have play on Carolina also. Check back later.

    1* Jacksonville -3 over Arizona
I like the Jags to get the cover in this match up. The Jags are coming off a tough 14-12 loss against the Colts. M. Jones-Drew had nearly 100 yards and I think he will eat up the Zona rush D. The Jags allowed only 2.3 yards/carry against the Colts last week and Arizona only rushed for 40 yards so they won't be able to run and eat up clock. Garrard had only 122 pass yards, but I think he will be able to move the ball effectively against a Zona D that gave up 210 yards to Hill and the 49ers last week. Jacksonville gave up 7.5 yards/pass play to P. Manning last week, and this is their only vulnerable point, but I think the will step up at home to contain Warner. The Jags also qualify for a great money line trend that is 43-2 straight up over the last 12 years. I like the Jags as a 1*.

FB, math system kicks in week 5.

        1* Carolina +6 over Atlanta

This line inflation is the overreaction of Carolina's blowout loss to Philly last week. But, this was a product of 6 Carolina's turnovers. I don't foresee this happening again this week. Delhomme has been an above average QB his entire career and it is not realistic to think he will play as bad as he did week 1 (4 interceptions). Carolina's D played very good allowing only 4.2 yards/play against an explosive Eagles offense. Atlanta only had 68 yards rushing last week, but Ryan played a solid game. But, this week they will face a very good Panther's D than will hold him down. I like Carolina as a 1*.
