NFL YTD 0-0
NFL/CFB Combined 6-3 +1.5 units
2* 1-2 -2.4 units
1* 5-1 +3.9 units
I went 3-1 Saturday. Unfortunately, the loss was on my only 2* of the day. Both of today's picks were first posted, without writeups, earlier in the week. One line has moved up, the other down. I still recommend both plays.
1* Texans -4 1/2
I wasn't a Mark Sanchez fan in college and am skeptical about him in the NFL. But even if I'm wrong, it's real hard to play your first game on the road. Houston ended last season 8-4 and, in my opinion, is a playoff team this year.
1* Packers -3 (-130)
The line has jumped since I bought the hook off of -3 1/2 but it's still a good play. The Packers were spectacular in the preseason and while you can't give that overwhelming weight you can't ignore it either. GB has the best WRs in the NFL, Rodgers is a developing star and the defense is much improved with a better coordinator. The Bears' offense is better than last year but Cutler is an interception machine and the Packers' new 3-4 defense emphasizes blitzing and forcing turnovers. GB in a shootout.
Opinion only:
