  • Fedor vs Barnett Fight Off

You guys see that this fight which was supposed to happen in a few weeks, and was the main event is now off. Barnett tested positive for a steroids and is now off the card. Affliction is now scrambling trying to find someone to fight Fedor. The rumor is they are offering the replacement fighter $500,000 for the fight, and right now the 3 rumored possible replacements are Vitor Belfort, Brett Rogers and longshot Bobby Lashly.

Just seems odd 2 me that you know going into a fight u KNOW u are going to get tested, and yet this guy takes steroids, and is going to miss possibly the biggest match of his career. Had a chance to go toe to toe with arguably one of the best fighters in the world and blew it.

actually FB he probably did not know he was getting tested....I know for a fact ufc-wec policy is test, then fight, (and japan forget it you can take anything you want, which is where he was fighting before affliction) then the results of the test come the day after the fight, (unless you have tested positive already then they do test you before and after) i know that sounds like a dumb way to do it but that is how they do it.

1 reason is probably ensuring a full card especially the main event, just writing this off the top of my head i can think of 2 main card participants that tested positive but no one knew until after the event. Sherk vs Franca everyone always really gives it too sherk but the fact is they BOTH tested positive, and james Irvin when he fought anderson silva, after anderson won...Irvin tested positive and he is just eligible to come back now i believe in the next couple ufc's.

I completely see your point of view, a chance to take out the best but think about it....if you know you have that chance to take out the best, your 38 years old and your career is about over, beating fedor would mean EVERYONE that is involved in MMA will NEVER forget your name...NEVER (even if he did test positive after the fight, people would still know who josh barnett is) now if affliction has a different policy and he did know he was being tested then i totally agree with you coach VERY STUPID.

i'm thinking barnett has probably tested positive before and that is why they tested him, which would mean i totally agree with you, and he is flat out stupid, then there are the fedor fanatics that will tell you barnett tested positive because he's afraid of fedor and doesn't want to fight which is also completely stupid....

all i gotta say is right after lesnar won 2 weeks ago in my thread i was telling chung, i said hey chung now comes the BIG PUSH for fedor to the ufc.....here we go...it's starting.

BTW IMO Rogers should get the shot, Belfort already has a fight scheduled the same night vs santiago, and lashley will not generate the $$$ they need, well i think rogers would generate more after just beating arlovski, who did fedor last beat ? arlovski. I think rogers deserves it, even though he probably won't win, i'll be rooting for him.

P.S coach rogers is also from minnesota, so if fedor beats him there is more to work with to sell a fight between fedor and lesnar

Fedor/Brock is going to draw no matter what. I'm pretty interested to see what kind of money they offer to get the fight set. I have a feeling UFC is going to be paying a lot.

Hey Pain you were thinking right, Barnett has tested positive before. I saw what he tested positive for was a steroid that helps you cut weight, but keep the muscle, seems kind of odd for a heavyweight to be cutting weight, hes been easily under the limit in his fights, unless hes put on some excess weight recently. Tuesday I was listening to ESPN radio out of Chicago and they had Dana White on for an interview, and they asked him about Fedor and he made it sound like its a definite that he will be in the UFC shortly. Also an interesting question was about Tito Ortiz and whether he will ever be back in the UFC and White made it sound like Tito will also be back in the future.
