Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds [7:10 PM ET]

Brewers: Milwaukee had defeated the Reds on four consecutive occasions after Thursday’s 9-6 win during the first game of this four-game series. Though the Reds took Friday’s contest 4-0, they still trail the season series 6-4. The ‘over’ has also gone 6-4 during the first 10 meetings. It was the fourth time this season and the second time this month that the Brewers have been blanked. Manny Parra is very familiar with the Reds, as the southpaw will be making his third start against them this season. Parra, 3-8 with a bloated 6.78 ERA, split the previous two meetings. The lanky lefty recorded a 15-3 win at Cincinnati, but suffered a 6-1 loss at home. He has allowed the Reds five runs on 11 hits in 12 combined innings. The Brewers are a dismal 3-11 in Parra’s first 14 starts this season, including 0-4 in his last six overall outings.

The Brewers are 2-7 in their last nine road games.

      Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 6 (Side of the Day)

Reds (-$1.20 O/U 9.5): Cincinnati had dropped six of its last nine games before blanking the Brewers in Friday’s contest. The victory enabled Cincinnati to even its home record at 21-21. The Reds are 13-15 against southpaw starting pitchers. Aaron Harang will get the ball in Saturday’s contest trying to snap a nine-game winless streak. The right-hander is 0-5 with a 5.26 ERA since his last victory on May 25. Five of those starts were quality outings but Sunday's certainly didn't qualify. He made it through just three innings and allowed five earned runs and eight hits with one walk and two strikeouts in a 9-7 loss to the Mets. Harang has faced the Brewers once this season (May 30) and suffered a 9-5 loss as a $1.15 road underdog. The Brewers tagged him for eight runs on 12 hits (three homers) in just 4 1/3 innings.

The Under is 11-3 in Cincinnati’s last 14 games as a favorite.

      Key Injuries - None.

      PROJECTED SCORE: 5

          -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady Luck: Today's WNBA best bets
          -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Detroit Shock at Phoenix Mercury (-4, 172.5)

Phoenix will have to find a way to keep the temperature rising without suspended All-Star Diana Taurasi.

Taurasi, the league’s leading scorer at nearly 21 points per game, will serve the first of a two-game ban handed down by the team following her being charged with extreme DUI. That means the short-handed Mercury must find a way to beat the defending champs without their star.

But Detroit has looked nothing like a champion this season. The Shock are a woeful 4-7 and just 2-4 on the road despite winning their past two in an opponents’ gym.

"Coming into this year, if you look at us, we lost Elaine Powell, we lost Cheryl Ford, and we lost Plenette Pierson,” Shock coach Rick Mahorn told the Detroit Free Press. “You had three veterans you could rely on, day in and day out. Losing them, you're trying to get back into a groove."

          Pick: Under 172.5

New York Liberty at Washington Mystics (-5, 142.5)

The Mystics fully understand what it will take to separate themselves from the rest of the pack that is tied for second in the Eastern Conference: defense.

"Something we said at the beginning of the season was that we wanted to be known as the best defensive team in the league," Mystics guard Lindsey Harding told the Washington Post. "It's just a matter of having that focus, that emphasis on one more stop. That's been all we've needed in some of these games, just one more stop, so we've really been focusing on just making the next stop."

Washington, however, has struggled to routinely make those stops, a big reason the team is fighting to stay around .500. The Mystics enter the game with just the eighth-ranked defense in the WNBA, allowing more than 77 points per game.

But if they Mystics want to improve on that number, they will eagerly welcome the Liberty. New York is horrendous on offense, as it ranks 13th in the league by averaging a wretched, 70.4 points per game.

          Pick: Mystics -5
