I doubt it. The Phillies never play well against Boston. They are (4-14) against the Red Sox since 2004 and they have played 6 series. Boston is (6-0) in those Series. Let's face it, you should thank TB every night before bed!!!

It's really a non issue because you have to win your league first then you get to the WS. Red Sox couldn't do that last year.......

I was glad to be playing the Rays though

ok got it...Anaheim could cause some trouble regardless. I agree defense wins championships and so does pitching but that isn't always the case. Good arguments!! I am outta here for now!

Fan interest aside. I really do think the Braves have a shot as a sleeper if they can add one more big bat. Their lineup is one short of being pretty good, and their pitching is absolutely outstanding.

Mets have yet to be healthy all year, and are missing three big bats. If they get back to healthy they are as good as anyone in the NL, IMO.

You're definitely right, big if. But I think that IF is better than a 20:1 shot.

SI picked this team to win the WS, and now they've been injured all year and are still in their division race. I think they're worth a couple of bucks.

The Mets are not only 6 1/2 games out, they also trail 3 other teams, not 1. If they fall any further behind, forget about it.

The Mets start the 2nd half of the season with a 10 game road trip. We will know at the end of those 10 games where the Mets are going. It will not be easy with 10 straight on the road but it is make or break imo.

And they start the 2nd half by losing the 1st two games of that road trip and they didn't look good in either game. Add to that, 2 of the 3 teams ahead of them have gone (2-0) to start the 2nd half (Philly,Atlanta).

I said this road trip will say it all for the Mets and after only 2 games, it looks bleak to me, real bleak!

The real make or break will be what they can do with their ten game home stand after the road stint. If they put together a nice 7-3 or 8-2 home stand, they will gain a lot of confidence. But who knows, right now it looks like the Phillies are absolutely unstoppable.

Braves need to keep on hitting like they did tonight. If they can average anywhere near 4 runs or more for this half, they really do have a good shot.
