  • Francoeur traded for Ryan Church

Not a big trade but slightly impacts tonights games. The Mets lineup gets worse, if that's possible

I would rather have Frenchy than Church...but that is just my opinion. Im sure no one will agree but I believe Jeff is worth more than Church.

He'll fit right in with the Mets, sucks at hitting and is a sub-par fielder. I'm glad to have anyone but him. I'm happy.

Francouer has a major hole in his swing, he'll always strikeout a bunch, and bat around .200 now that everyone's figured him out. And any power he had is practically gone. Church is a pretty good hitter. He'll never be great, but he's solid. This trade is bad for the Mets

I think they both suck and neither will make any impact. .

Agree to disagree. Frenchy has a cannon in right and plays good defense. He does still have power but also strikes out a lot. Only 25 years old so the swing can be fixed if it is indeed a problem. Not to mention is a classy guy...which can't be said for many in the league. Im in agreement with the bad PR move on Braves management in this trade following the Glavine-Smoltz drama.

Don't you get tired of having this guy at bat with a man on 3rd and one out, an he can't make contact with the ball? He either hits long balls or strikes out, and after a while it gets really frustrating to watch.

He does have a cannon in right, but his fielding as a whole is a verage at best.

Most statistic metrics have Francouer as an average right fielder defensively the past 2 seasons, actually worse than Church.

Francouer's strikeouts are finally down this year, but it no longer matters because his power has been completely sapped. He's gone from 17.1% of his flyballs leaving the yard his rookie season to 15.3% to 6.5% last year to 4.7% this year. That's Christian Guzman power without the singles.

The only conceivable bonus for the Mets is that Francouer is younger.

I don't get it. I think it is a very good trade for the Braves. Did it have anything to do with the Mets wanting a right handed bat maybe? I just don't know why they would want Jeff, especially in that ballpark!

I have not followed Church's career but Francoeur has been a BUST.One of the worst hitters I have seen.Mavs touched on it earlier with runners in scoring position with 1 out he would strike out 75% of the time and then 1 out later the inning was over.He sucked with runners in scoring position and Atlanta gave him every chance to fix his mentality at the plate and he never changed

You're not happy with this? I thought you disliked Jeff just as much as I did.
