On July 6th I posted Toronto based on their rookie pitcher who was on a 20 inning scoreless streak and who had 6 quality starts in a row. The play did win, although it could have lost in the 9th inning because of Toronto's bullpen.
I learned from that win not to rely on the bullpen anytime I base a play on the starting pitcher. Tonight, another hot rookie pitcher who just had a 26 inning scoreless streak broken by a single run homerun.
Opps, this game goes in just 10 minutes, at 35 past the hour. To be quick, PLAY ATLANTA WITH TOMMY HANSON. BUT, PLAY JUST THE FIRST 5 INNINGS. This way, you will have Hanson for all 5 innings and won't have to rely on Atlanta's bullpen. I know Cook for Colorado is having a very good year, but until Hanson shows he is not as good as his record, bet on Atlanta FOR THE FIRST 5 INNINGS, whenever Hanson is the starting pitcher.
