  • Very large play today in MLB

I don't play often and I post less often, and when I play totals, I am often in search of a comfortable under, but today I am bucking all of these trends and sharing a very large play that I have on the OVER in the NYY/ATL game.

This game sets up to me in perfect fashion for a run-fest, as Chien-Ming Wang has made it through five innings exactly one time this year, and has yet to post a legitimate quality start. His numbers speak for themselves, including his .432 BAA on the road. This Braves lineup is not the most powerful lineup in the world, but Wang is only taking the hill until the Yankees pull the trigger on a deal for a new starting arm. No reason the Braves can't post the same early 3-4 runs against him that every team has all season.

Tommy Hanson makes his second career home start for the Braves, and he seems to be a legitimate franchise pitcher in the future. For this game, I stres FOR THE FUTURE. This is a pissed off Yankees team who has played poorly offensively against Washington and Florida, and after a day off, I expect them to give the rookie fits. This Yankee lineup, with 5 guys very very due to get back on track with the bat, on a day of rest, reads to me as an absolute disaster for a young pitcher, whose BB/K ratio looks to be fairly even. I think this game will fly the 9.5 total early, and while more unders than overs get cashed at Turner Field, I see both of these pitchers being sizably outmatched, and I think that the weak middle relief of both squads will open the floodgates.

    NYY/ATL OVER 9.5
    Good luck

Agreed, Lemmer, I'm not really going out on anything more than a low-hanging limb. I think the Yankee slump and the Hanson hype helped keep this under double digits, and I'm happy to bet against both of those as overblown/premature.

Good luck, T. Chien Meng-Wang is still pitching? WTF. The dude is a disaster this year.

Wow, watching this Yankee team leave runners on base by the dozen gives me a taste of what Steinbrenner must be feeling this entire road trip. This group makes you feel like the AIG execs may not be the most overpaid losers in NYC.
