Report: Allen, Rondo offered to Pistons

Yahoo! Sports reports the Celtics offered Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo to the Pistons for a package that included Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey.
Allen and Rondo have been in the middle of many trade rumors this summer and where there's smoke, you have to think there's fire. However, it is hard to imagine the C's giving up on Rondo after he helped them win a championship a year ago. Allen, on the other hand, seems to be at the top of the Celtics' list of players they hope to move.

I don't see how the Pistons would do this, unless there's serious financial implications.

If that trade went through with Detroit, Danny Ainge would be arrested for Rape!

Detroit would be absolute IDIOTS to do that. They fucked up once with the Billups move and their not gonna do it again!

Ainge comes out and supports Rondo on Tuesday and then disses him to the media on Wednesday???

It would seem that they are shopping him and given his performance, he must be one big headache to deal with if that is the case. As is, if healthy, they would have won the East...

While I think the Celts would get the better of this deal, I don't think it is so one sided...Pistons get a highly productive 3 point shooter with an expiring contract (what's better- Allen for 1 year or Hamilton for 3? Given last years perfromance, I think Allen for 1), and a far superior PG. They give up Prince, 28, in his prime...but you gotta get to give. Pistons need to do something to revamp that team and it would give them significant money to make a run at a top tier FA next summer....

Agreed...which makes Ainge's comments yesterday even harder to believe.

I'd trade rondo in a second. Someone is gonna over pay for him big time, and hope it isnt the celts.

Rondo has a lot of flash, but cannot shoot and makes many bad decisions as a point guard.
