It's tough to go against GSP but Im taking Alves. I know how great GSP is but at the good odds with Alves has I am leaning toward him. Alves is an excellent Striker, with massive KO power. His last 3 wins were KO's of Matt Hughes and Karo Parsyian. And a 3 rd decision over Josh Koscheck. In the fight vs Koscheck his takedown defense was very impressive. Koscheck is probbly the 2nd best mma wrestler in the division. He was able to stop him so. GSP is on a different levels from those guys but I give Alves a good shot at winning his fight.2010: 23-12 +37.8
2011: 4-0 + 20
09-11 5*s and up: 34-7 -
I'm taking Alves in the 3rd rd by knockout. As this fight moves on Alves will have a better and better chance of winning the fight. Power wins big fights when you can throw while your opponent's tired. Also...I have to agree with Mark. His takedown defense was impressive. If this fight stays standing GSP is going to have his hands FULL.
