Pick 'n' Roll: Sunday's best NBA bet
            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Los Angeles Lakers at Orlando Magic (-3, 198.5)

After a day to decompress following L.A.'s 99-91 overtime win in Game 4, both teams practiced on Saturday at Amway Arena, which because of the 2-3-2 format, will be hosting its final game of the season. The Magic, who have been written off several times in these playoffs, have faith that they can become the first team in finals history to overcome a 3-1 deficit.

            The first 29 failed.

''We know what's ahead of us,'' said Orlando center Dwight Howard, whose frightful free-throw shooting (6-of-14) in Game 4 hurt the Magic. ''We know what's been said and the situation that we're in. We won't stop believing.''

The Lakers understand what's at hand. They don't want to give life to an Orlando team that has come back before. One year after losing in the finals to Boston, Bryant and his teammates want to finish the job.

            Pick: Los Angeles +3

Lady Luck: Sunday's WNBA best bets
                  -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Atlanta Dream at Connecticut Sun (-7.5, 153)

Atlanta (1-2) dropped its second straight Friday night, 81-73 at Chicago.

After averaging 17.5 points in her first two games back in the league since 2007, Chamique Holdsclaw was held to seven against the Sky.

Top draft pick Angel McCoughtry and Sancho Lyttle, acquired along with Michelle Snow from Houston, are the only two players to score in double figures in each game for coach Marynell Meadors' revamped team.

"Everybody has to remember we're a work in progress," Meadors said. "This is our second year, but we've got a lot of good players who just haven't played together.''

                  Pick: Connecticut -7.5

Seattle Storm at Chicago Sky (+1, 143)

The Seattle Storm have been the busiest team in the WNBA this season. So far, it hasn't seemed to bother them.

Playing their fifth game in nine days and fourth on the road, the Storm look to continue their hot start and stay unbeaten against the host Chicago Sky on Sunday night.

After suffering its first loss of the season, 73-66 at Indiana on Tuesday night, Seattle (3-1) bounced back to hand Minnesota its first defeat in Friday night's 88-71 road victory. The Storm held the Lynx, the league's top-scoring team at 95.0 points per game, to 10 in the first quarter and never trailed after that.

"They've proven they can score, and they do a good job in transition," said Seattle guard Sue Bird, who had 15 points and nine assists. "Early on, we sent three, four players back at a time. We didn't want them to get off to a good start in transition, especially on their home court because that can really energize a team."

Lauren Jackson led the way with 22 points and a season-high 11 rebounds. After re-signing with the Storm last month, the two-time MVP is second in the league with 22.8 points per game.

She was held to 14 on May 17, 2008 in a season-opening 67-61 home win over the Sky, and Seattle won 70-62 at Chicago on Sept. 4 without Jackson, who missed 13 games due to the Olympics and an ankle injury. The Storm are 6-0 against the Sky in Chicago's three seasons.

                  Pick: Seattle -1

Los Angeles Lakers at Orlando Magic [8:00 PM ET]

Lakers: The Lakers are on the cusp of winning their 15th championship in franchise history up 3-1. No team in 29 previous tries has won the title after being down 3-1 in the finals. The Lakers haven’t lost three games in a row since they acquired Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies on Feb. 1, 2008. Kobe Bryant continues to be unstoppable averaging 30.2 points in the series. Los Angeles is 24-8-2 (75 percent) ATS in its last 34 games as a road underdog. The Lakers have won five of their last six games in Orlando. The Lakers have exploited the rustiness of Magic point guard Jameer Nelson, who scored just two points with three assists and one turnover in nearly 26 minutes of action during Orlando’s Thursday’s 99-91 overtime loss. The Lakers may hold a psychological edge after coming from a 12-point halftime deficit to pull out the victory.

The Under has cashed in 10 of the Lakers’ past 13 games.
The Under has cashed in 8 of the Lakers’ last 9 games versus Eastern Conference competition.

                    Key Injuries - None.

                    PROJECTED SCORE: 98

Magic (-3, O/U 198.5): Down 3-1, the Magic very well could be up 3-1. But can the Magic respond from a devastating home loss in Game 4? They’ll have to shoot better than 22-of-37 (59 percent) from the foul line. The Magic will have to cut down on 19 turnovers, too. Orlando has shown resilience winning a Game 7 in Boston, upsetting LeBron James’ Cavaliers and taking Game 3 in this series after losing the first two. The Magic are 38-15 (71 percent) in their last 53 games following a straight-up defeat. Since scoring only 75 points in Game 1, the Magic are averaging 98.3 points and have lost two overtime contests. Dwight Howard has stepped up his game, but Rashard Lewis needs to get more involved after making just two-of-10 shots from the floor on Thursday and Magic coach Stan Van Gundy needs to settle on Rafer Alston as his main point guard.

The Under has cashed 7 of the past 10 times Orlando has been a favorite.
The favorite is 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings between these two clubs.

                    Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 101 (OVER - Total of the Day)

St. Louis Cardinals at Cleveland Indians [8:05 PM ET]

Cardinals: The Cardinals are facing last year’s American League Cy Young Award winner, Cliff Lee. But the Cardinals have two big things going for them – Albert Pujols and Chris Carpenter. Pujols is on a hitting tear going seven-for-16 with six home runs. The reigning National League MVP is the all-time leader in interleague batting average at .355 and has socked 30 homers and driven in 100 RBIs. Carpenter has pitched great when healthy this season with a 4-0 mark and 1.23 ERA. St. Louis has won 71 percent (78-31) of the time during Carpenter’s past 109 starts. The Cardinals are 7-2 in Carpenter’s last nine starts as an underdog. Carpenter, though, is 7-9 with a 4.85 ERA in 23 interleague starts, including 2-3 with a 5.31 ERA since joining St. Louis in 2004. The Cardinals have lost 13 of their last 19 games on the road when facing a southpaw starter.

The Over is 20-7-4 in the Cardinals’ last 31 interleague road contests.
The Over has cashed 16 of the past 21 times when Rob Drake has been behind the plate in interleague games.

Key Injuries - Troy Glaus (shoulder) is on the DL.

                      PROJECTED SCORE: 3

Indians (-107, O/U 7.5 under -$1.25): Cleveland has defeated St. Louis in seven of its past nine meetings. Cliff Lee has the highest winning percentage in interleague competition of any pitcher with at least 12 decisions, going 11-2 (.846) with a 3.42 ERA in 19 career interleague matchups. The Indians have won 14 of Lee’s last 18 interleague starts. The left-hander is 5-0 with a 3.62 ERA in eight career home starts versus National League foes. He’s faced St. Louis one time. That came in a 10-3 road win on June 26, 2006. Lee gave up two runs in six innings. Since his first two starts, Lee has allowed more than three earned runs only once in his last 11 starts and that came in his last outing when he allowed four runs to Kansas City at home on Tuesday. Cleveland is 0-7 in Lee’s last seven starts against a team with a winning record.

The Indians are 3-8 in Lee’s last 11 starts as a favorite.
The Under is 8-2-1 in Cleveland’s past 11 interleague contests.

Key Injuries - Grady Sizemore (elbow) and Asdrubal Cabrera (shoulder) are on the DL.

PROJECTED SCORE: 4 (Side of the Day)
