Maddux and Smoltz were not on the front cover of every national publication nation wide. I'm old enough to remember and usually when these can't miss kids come up, they either dazzle or fizzle and looking at stats from two games, it's clearly the fizzle so far!
And neither is Hanson. Kid might hang a W on 2 ER tonight and he's being criticized.
No body ever called him "can't miss" either. He's a promising young prospect. One that I happen to really like.
I don't know where you found national publications or the words "can't miss" anywhere. Nobody dubbed this kid the next Cy Young.
He's real good. But like any young kid he has some things he needs to fix and needs some time to get used to ML ball.
He was pasted everywhere as the great hanson. Who are you kidding. Even you have had a hard on for him since he came up.
Yeah, because I follow the Braves. A lot of Braves fans love this kid.
You act as if he was on the cover of Sport's Illustrated or had his own special on ESPN. You know who has more pub than this kid and is in your own division nonetheless. David Price. You wanna talk about bad WHIPs. Go check out the immortal " DAVID PRICE "

And he's had some time to work on his ML game.
David Price was GREAT in game 7 of the ALCS last year my friend and he was on the mound when they got the final out. You wanna talk about ice in the veins, there it is!
You wanna talk about pressure, there it is.
Price has only given up 5 ER's in 19 innings so far this year. Hanson gave up 6 ER's in his 1st start. Price also has 26 K's in 19 innings pitched. 18 walks yes, but it hasn't hurt his era any. I do have Price on 2 of my teams and he IS a stud!

And Hanson's walks didn't do anything to his ERA tonight either. He pitched well. I'll take 5+ IP, 2 ER and a W any night.
We'll talk in a few more starts when Hanson has had some time to settle in.
