Great article I thought I'd post. No one better to start this than Nolan Ryan. I think pitch counts (and most bullpens) just plain suck. Hopefully this starts a trend around baseball...

Good read, but on the year that they mention Ryan he averaged barely over 17 pitches per inning. I think Ryan's right though they need to teach these new young pitchers better conditioning etc so they can throw longer amounts of innings.
