NCAA FREEBIE: HOUSTON BOWL OVER We’ve now hit 4 of 5 Free Selections. From the Houston Bowl this afternoon we’ve got one team that posted more than 20 points only 5 times this year (So. Miss) and another team in OK St. that that played over in 5 of 7 totaled games this year. The Eagles have a stop defense that is ranked 11th nationally but after many 3 and outs the Cowboy “O” will begin to rise to the occasion with the “triple threat” of QB Fields (29 TD 9 INT), WR Woods (1600 yards) and RB Bell (just under 1000 yards). We watched on freescoreboard as these guys absolutely humiliated Oklahoma and they will rack up the points today.

FOOTBALL FORECASTERS
Oklahoma St In the bowl games you don't find a lot of fundamental match-up advantages. But you can look at who played well down the stretch, who played the tougher schedule, and who's excited to be in the bowl. Oklahoma State covers on all three counts. They've been defeated by Southern Miss twice in recent years - but this Cowboy team is playing at a much higher level - while the Eagles appear to be having a bit of a down year. We think the Eagles are simply going to have a tough time moving the ball against the Cowboys. We're laying the points and going with the team that plays in a much tougher conference to dominate this game. I'm stepping out on this one with 4% of bankroll.

Houston Bowl— Oklahoma State vs. Southern Mississippi, Dec. 27, 1:30 p.m.
Want to know how important the Cowboys' two wins against Oklahoma were? Les Miles is 11-12 in Stillwater, but Alabama and Michigan State had him on their list of candidates. Oklahoma State 26, Southern Mississippi 13.
Independence Bowl— Nebraska vs. Ole Miss, Dec. 27, 4:30 p.m.
Moving this game away from New Year's Eve should excite fans who want to be in a better city than Shreveport when 2003 dawns. Of course, backers from Nebraska might find the town an improvement over their daily life. Nebraska 34, Mississippi 20.
Holiday Bowl— Kansas State vs. Arizona State, Dec. 27, 8 p.m.
The season's biggest mismatch in Las Vegas will also the biggest mismatch on the field. Kansas State 40, Arizona State 19.
