With a win streak of 8 games and beyond it's profitable to start fading the hot team. These teams only have a .443 win percentage.
The problem with playing the streaking team the bettor has to start laying some serious wood.

Some people have been successful using the Dunkel system.

The magic number for fading the slumping losing team is also 6. Start to fade teams that have lost 6 straight. When the losing streak reaches double digits there's no edge playing on or fading the losing team. Fading these teams wins almost 59% of the games. Playing on the home favorite wins almost 68% of the games. However, the average line in these games is -175. Avoid betting on home dogs vs teams on a 6 or more game losing streak. These home dogs win less than 40% of their games.

You won't know the ump for the first game in a series because the umps for that series is unknown. After the first game the home plate ump will be the first base ump from the previous game.

I'll make it very simple. Bet nothing but home dogs. Look for starters where the team lost his last start and he pitched well, 4 or less earned runs with 6 or more innings pitched.

                I guarantee you'll win.

                    Thats not always true.
I recall a number of years ago when Oakland won 20 some odd games in a row, and after ten or eleven games many folks started betting AGAINST them; in some of those games during the streak they were dogs, and the lines weren't so high when they were favorites precisely because the conventional thinking was that they were due to lose.

Re: Winning Streaks and Losing Streaks-I believe one of the key things to consider is when a team is on a streak is to check on the different forums to see how many folks are going with the streak as opposed to how may are betting AGAINST the streak.
A lot more times than not, if more people are going against the streak than with it, the streak will continue because as we all know, most of the time the consensus is wrong.
This has worked for me-people who try to be heroes by ending streaks lose more often or not.
Even though in general I don't care for Phil Ste ele, his axiom of "you can win many times by going with a streak but lose only once by going against it" is quite valid.

i am not a MLB player simply because the lines are tough. but if/when i handicapped the games i started simply with the bullpens. Starting pitchers are good but 9 times out of 10 the game is decided by the bullpens. That is what i look at it but again i dont bet baseball but when i did that was what i looked at most hands down
