Carolina hurricanes - 115 (Carolina leads series 2-1) Game 4 is Friday night.

Carolina opened at +175 playing the 1st 2 games in boston, they got a split in boston, and they won the 1st home game so the series is 2-1 carolina with game 4 in carolina.


I'm personally playing this for 2 specific reasons the first reason is Carolina has won the last 4 playoff series they have played after losing game 1 (they lost in boston)

2nd reason is a personal trend i notice.......almost every year the favorite to win the Vezina trophy (league's best goaltender) is usually in the playoffs, and almost every year they are some how matched up against not only a guy that should be nominated but could win it himself, and got kind of snubbed.

the favorite to win this year is Tim Thomas , for boston, and so far Cam Ward for carolina has been flat out better than him in every area of the goaltending position.

Carolina wins game 4 by the score of 4-1

Going back to boston with the series 3-1 carolina, 1 more game they win the series.

Cam Ward with every save is making everyone forget how good thomas actually is, it's just that Ward has been that much better, i think thomas has a great story and it's good to see him get recognized but he and his whole team are just getting outplayed.

Cam Ward has only been in the plaoffs 2 years in his life, in the 05 - 06 season his first time he and the hurricanes ran through the east which included Martin Broduer on the way to winning the stanley cup and guess who was playoff MVP.....Cam Ward.

This year well watch for yourself, he's doing it again. this is only his second time ever in the playoffs and he has a 2.14 GAA and .925 save % which will be higher after tonight.

This is significant since ward's highest % in any season was .916 % some guys are just clutch and cam ward, not to mention Eric Stall are 2 of the best. * when Eric Staal scores in the playoffs hurricanes are 7-0, i'd really like Staal to score next game

thanks brother and yes it's looking solid. How about ward buddy, amazing once you get into the playoofs with that guy, as you know some guys just play better in the playoffs, it's even better when you have 2 guys that play better in the playoffs.......Staal is just sick in the playoffs.

Sweet Carolina !

well first let me say Cam Ward and Tim Thomas put on a wonderful show for hockey fans tonight, both were just amazing, but 1 had to win, and 1 had to lose.

Cam Ward and the Carolina Hurricanes won, Carolina and Ward are off to the eatern conference finals to play the Penguins. (that series is going to awesome, better than the west matchup IMO and i'm a western conference fan)

This Game 7 was the best game 7 out of the 3 IMO, because of the goaltenders, truly a great hockey game all the way around.

and how about scott walker scoring the game winning goal, sweet ! 1st ever playoff goal and it's a winner ! (even sweeter when a guy 60 lbs bigger than you dares you to punch him in the face so you do, and he turns around and asks for you to be suspended saying it was a cheap shot)

The league would have given out a suspension if it was deserved, like they always do.

In over 20 years of hockey i can only remember 1 player or team ASK for a player to be suspended. that was Mcsorley and i don't know anyone that didn't want him suspended. what has happened to my favorite sport where we have players asking for other players to be suspended. I'm sure some coaches have said something in a press conference because i know i will get a boston fan in here, but what hockey player especially a defensemen asks for a suspension on another player ?

*quick note to aaron ward if you don't want to get your orbital bone broken then don't stick your chin out daring people to punch you in the face.

WINNER HURRICANES

well i played it for 2 specific reasons, 1st was carolina had won their last 4 playoff series after losing game 1. Make that the last 5 playoff series after losing game 1.

2nd reason : The Vezina trophy finalist(league's best goaltender) is always matched up in the playoffs against a goalie that deserved to be at least nominated. Thomas is the favorite to win it and probably will. Ward is the guy that if nominated could win it also, but he wasn't even nominated.

Thomas is the only reason IMO that it even went 7 games so he really stepped up in game 5 (he was amazing) and 6, and a game 7 in overtime is anybody's game i don't care who the goaltender is, carolina got the bounce, that's the way it went, i'm just glad i was on the right side. I know i'll be partying in my own thread because we have a lot of boston fans here.

the replay is on center ice now and i see that NESN played the Herb Brooks speech right out of the movie miracle before the game.

What does that speech have to do with anything, boston was the best team in the east and they were the higher seeded team, why would a huge underdog speech be appropriate ? all i heard was OHH boy the bear is out tonight, they are really ready to go tonight. I guess the hurricane blew right by the bear.
