I used to have a guy who did the same exact thing. He said he hated dealing with change and he said he rounded up for faves and down with dogs. Being the book, he figured it was his right. I really had no problem with it because his lines were pretty legit. Yes, 50 cents here and there can add up but a good week will still be a good week and a bad one will be a bad one. I bet a lot of games too but the few bucks a week wasn't a big deal and it wasn't worth causing a stink over.
I agree. If hes a good book let it go. I hear alot of problems about getting paid when people win. Now thats a problem.

He's pretty solid, and does payout. One more thing that pissed me off, this time regarding horse wagering. April 18 there was a race at Keenland; the Coolmore Lexington Stakes. To make a long story short, I hit a $1 exacta that should have paid $220. The $2 was 440. It was, Advice over Conservative. Anyway he paid me $89 ( only 40%), and his reasoning was that there was not a lot of much money in the wagering pool. I know that was a lie because a few weeks prior to that bet I hit a pick 4 on some races at Los Alamitos. Please don't judge me for betting Quarter horses, I know that's sick. Anyway, it was on a Sunday night & he paid me my full $340. I know without a doubt that there had to be more people betting on a Big race with 3 year olds at Keenland, than some nags at Los Alamitios.

That is what I was going to ask grandmama ... does he payout when he should?? has he ever delayed you in paying??? is he open for business when he should be??? Are his lines decent??? does he allow you a roll-over figure???

If you answer yes to 3 of those let it go ... You have a good book ...

            that's messed up...

We should all become bookies and make our own rules then. I don't get this at all. I didn't make this guy become a bookie and take the risk. Fair and consistent and I don't give a shit if its a penny-sounds like since he takes the risk then we should all succumb to his rules...get a off shore account...Fk this guy.

bryce, it is his rules ... or his bosses ... he is the book ... you play by his rules ...

It is not easy to find good one's ... but when you do there is no better way to wager ... IMHO

Well I guess that is why everyone around here hates there book except a few people including me...I like the guy and have been with him as a player and a push off guy. But one thing remains the same... the shit I hear from BC members is just horror stories and the way these guys run their books is just plain wrong. I am surprised no one has ever gone postal-book on them...

bryce, You think it's bad now, this is nothing. I remember what betting was like before the internet and offshore books came about. Your only option was a local and they all knew it. I used to get so fucked on lines and juice, it wasn't even funny. I would find a new book and the same shit would happen. Locals around here are better now than they ever were. They know there is competition called offshores and they know that if they don't offer what the offshores do, they might lose you. Either way, it is their rules and if you don't like them, you or anyone else have plenty of other options.

The price of gas is different at most stations. If you keep going to the most expensive one, that's your choice to pay. Don't blame the gas station!

Bet even numbers in that case,so when the lines are odd you bet even so if you bet 40 or 60 buks it would be 42 or 63.

Than the prob is solved,if you play that many games than an extra 10 buks or minus 10 is not a prob.

And I guess some/many people do not want off shore because they may have a hard time getting paid. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I have a nice set up with my book which I go through him as an agent offshore. So I don't get fkd on lines per se and I don't have to worry about getting paid from the offshore. I really think this is a good scenario...for me anyhow!

Although this is a little off topic, I think the most irriating and enlightening thing which ever happened to me was when I was right out of college and wasn't even betting with bookmakers-I was strictly a "football card" man.
Well, anyways to make a long story short, for about nine or ten weeks(can't really remember how many weeks but it was in that general range), I kept "investing" $5-$10 a week in the "card" with different combinations of 4 and 5 teamers and lost every week.
Well, wouldn't you know it-I finally hit one of the cards for $100 and was thrilled.
Well, I thought I won anyways.
When I went to the local establishment where I turned in the "card" every week to collect, I was politely informed that the folks who were in charge of the cards and took the action had been raided and that all of the cash had been confiscated and that I was out of luck.
I wonder whether these guys would have been "raided' had the card not won. lol
Actually I was quite pissed at the time but now can at least look back at the incident and say I learned a lot as to how the Underworld sometimes operates.

I hope they were raided because they shouldn't be operating for a 100 loss..who knows though. I guess you need to know who you are dealing with up front and know what the rules are.

From what I heard later, whoever took the action got hit real big that particular week with many winning cards(considering that I lost every week until then, I am not surprised that there were multiple winners also lol), and that if there was a raid, it was orchestrated and arranged with the cops(who I am sure were rewarded for going along with it).
