Today I’m playing The Black Course at Bethpage , site of this year’s US Open. Needless to say , I got to bed real early last night.

I know we want to protect our gains for the week and have 3 winning weeks in a row out the gate , but today’s card is pretty strong … So I’m leaving it up to you.



Yesterday: 2-1 and the ½* plays split out ... once again the Yanks took it up the ass pipe ... blame it on the " Curse of A-Rod " ... no one will win with him ... whether he plays or not.

The Plays for Sunday: Top Plays are 15-6



2* St Louis +115 … Top Play and the first 2* of the season … plays go as high as 4*’s which are pretty rare.

1* Florida at Even

1* Baltimore –110

1* Kansas City +135

1* Kansas City + 1 ½ Runs –125

1* Seattle +115

1* Tampa Bay –105

1* Washington + 1 ½ Runs –120

1* Colorado + 1 ½ Runs –135

½* Houston +110


Jake Peavy and The Padres are over rated today vs. Pittsburgh … believe it or not I have SD only –115 in my power ratings.

GL today Neil! Quick story- about 6 weeks after they played the last US Open at Bethpage and back when I was a decent golfer (a 3 handicap), I played the Black with a friend who is really good. We played it from 3 paces in from the last tee box. I was exhausted by the 8th hole as the course was so freakin' long. I remember hitting perfect tee shots that didn't even make the fairway! I played great and shot 86!!!! Course killed me!

Disappointing day on the diamonds


Three Jack ... 86 from the tips is a very respectable score. No need to hang your head

This year I'll bet there will be a few pros in the 80's.


Today I saw my friend Joe who's the director of golf there ... we've been friends for 35 years ... he's going to make this year's Open extremely difficult in light of what Greg Norman said a few weeks ago ... that Augusta makes Bethpage Black seem like a pitch and putt.

Well Norman missed the cut by 12 strokes down there and he will not have to bring too many changes of clothes here in NY


And why can the fellas shoot 13 - 15 under at Augusta and only 1 player in the golfing world break par at Bethpage Black?


Believe me ... 86 is a superb round.

Playing the course the way we played it that day, I would take it every day! I rarely think that I play really well and I hot the ball great that day. I am usually a poor ball striker and a very good putter but things worked in reverse that day. But I would take that round any day...course was a bi-atch!
