As much as I hope he gets it, I don't think he will.
He doesn't overpower anyone with his knuckleball, and its hard to think that someone won't simply stick out the bat, make contact and get a hit during the next two innings.
ps I would have said that before the game started,so who knows.
The important thing is that they have a 5-0 lead (from my point of view anyways).

I dont have any money on this game so it doesnt matter each way. I enjoy watching these things happen (possibly) because I have been a pitcher my whole life and it's exciting!

2 years ago Schilling pitched a no hitter for 8 2/3 innings in Oakland ... during a day game. We'll see if Wakefield makes it that far.

ps Wow-they just said this is the 4th time in his career he has gone through 7 innings without giving up a hit.
Obviously what I said in previous post has some merit;can he finally do it????

I remember that game very well.
ps Its early but Pedroia, Ortiz and Ellsbury look dreadful at the plate.

whats going to hurt him is that he has sat through his entire lineup now go through the order and hit and he was in a groove, we will have to see if that effects him because I know as a pitcher, I'm effected if im in a groove and then I have to wait 25 minutes to get back out... it can have a mental drain on a pitcher..

That doesn't help his cause, thats for sure.

lol and they keep hitting the ball, keeping Wakefield on the bench even longer. Somebody has to try a bunt and get out of this inning so they can get him back out there...

Burnett lost his in the 7th last night, it gets tougher as the game goes on and batters see more pitchers. Especially against a guy like this who only throws 3 or 4 different pitches.

I worry about Ortiz. The other 2 .... i'm not worried at all.

3 or 4 diff pitches? Be lucky if he throws 3 pitches. LOL. And he really only throws one pitch decently
