Illinois Derby $50 across the board on Perfect Song ML 6-1. Musket Man is the early morning favorite at 7-2. With Lord Justice being scratched to run in the Wood it leaves Perfect Song as the lone speed horse in the race. Without anyone pressing him on the front end he has the ability to go gate to wire.
Santa Anita Derby- $50 W/P on Pioneer of the Nile ML 2-1. I think this is a 2 horse race between Pioneer and the ML favorite The Pamplemousse (9-5). These 2 horses have opposite running styles. Pioneer's owner has entered the horse Z Day in the race, who is a speed ball. Z Day's only job is to force The Pamplemousse to rub quick fractions which should favor Pioneer who is a stretch runner.
