In Eli's case, it was Archie didn't want his son playing for the Chargers. He didn't want Eli to QB for a losing franchise like he did with the Aints. A few days before the draft Archie Manning flew to SD, alone, to meet with then coach Marty Schottenheimer. Shottenheimer was trying to convince Archie the Chargers would be a good team for Eli. The day after the meeting Archie called Marty letting him don't draft Eli. He won't play for the Chargers.

I understand both sides in this standoff but what it really boils down to is a lot of people are jealous of the milionaire athletes and you better not make any mistakes because you will look a millionaire baby in their eyes.....period.
Derek Brooks gave his all to the Bucs. Should the Bucs reward him year after year for his loyalt? At what point should it end?
How much more should the players receive from team owners? Currently, the players receive approx 2/3 of team revenue.

And if derrick brooks can still perform the duties needed to be an above average outside linebacker he should be retained.
btw I can never remember going to a football, baseball, or basketball game to see pat bowlan jerry jones etc.
when I go to a rolling stones concert I pay my 250+ to see the stones, not their management team.
Have a good night frank.

Hypothetical question...if it comes out that Cutler's Dad is behind all of this and telling Cutler not to return to Denver, would Cutler then cease to be a crybaby...and all is well and forgiven as in the elway and manning case...

Originally posted by BigWeiner View PostI think the Lions should trade the first pick.Originally posted by hokie99 View PostI agree. The 3 tackles they are talking about are nice players but it's hard to tell if they are franchise #1 overall picks. The Lions have so many needs that they can address later in the draft. Why not fill the toughest position in the NFL with a guy who's already been to a Pro Bowl and isn't even 26 yet. Cutler is well worth the #1 even if he is a bit of a baby.Originally posted by BigWeiner View PostThe Lions could turn their whole franchise around with that move. Sure their defense would still be bad, but a good offense helps a bad defense, and they would be exciting and put up points. Cutler, Calvin Johnson, and Kevin Johnson.
Man, I pray the Lions get him! That's my team! And I'm tired of getting teased by my friends about them every year of my life! Step it up, Lions!!!2019 SEASON
