Can someone explain to me why Tulsa is a 5 point favorite over Northwestern?
Northwestern has beaten 6 Ncaa Tourney teams this year.
Beat Purdue
Beat Ohio St
Beat Wisky
Beat Mich St @ St
Beat Fl st
Beat Minny @ Minny
Tough losses
By 3 to Mich
By 1 to ILL
By 2 to Purdue
By 4 to Butler
I realize along the way they got blown out a few times by 13,27, and 29, but for the most part they have played in 16 games this year vs Tourney opponents.
Tulsa has beaten just one tournament team this year and only faced 6 teams in the tourney with 9 games involved against tournament teams. Played Memphis 3 times
They beat
Texas A&M by 11
Key losses
by 18 to OK St
by 4 to Ill
by 25 to OK
by 6 to BYU
I see that Northwestern has a fairly young team and this is the first post season tourney for that program in 10 years. So i am thinking they will be highly motivated in this game.
Tulsa feels shafted a tad bit after finishing in 2nd place in CUSA and making the championship game of their conference tourney only to not get the nod on selection Sunday. Tulsa also won last years inaugral CBI tournament and i just cant see them being all that fired up here.
Any input guys would be appreciated, Hey Kaptain, i know you are the resident guru on Tulsa. A little help here because i want to come unglued on Northwestern.
