Okay guys, here are my picks for the next four Euro Champions League Matches today. Also, I only bet soccer during major competitions like this so there won't be daily plays from random leagues all over the world, but hopefully I can give you guys a few winners again today: remember 1 unit on each, unit always = $100, no exceptions, p.s. below the soccer are my hoops plays tonight also
Euro Champions Leage:
Juventus(Italy)@ Chelsea (England):
Chelsea -.5 (-127)
This game pits two dominate names in European soccer head to head playing the 1st leg tie in London, England this afternoon. Chelsea burst onto the scene under new ownership in 2005 and dominated England and faired fairly well in European Competition, losing on a missed Penatly Kick in the finals of this same event last year to Man U in Moscow. Chelsea has recently hired famous international coach Gus Hidnik and he has the them flying right now especially with powerful forward Didier Drogba returning to form, I love Chelsea in this spot and keep in mind they are at home so they have to get a result tonight as the 2nd leg will be in Italy.
Panthinaikos (Greece) @ Villareal (Spain):
Villareal -.5 (-135)
This game is simply a mismatch on paper. The Greeks stormed through the group stages of this competition after losing their first 3 matches and were able to advance with some huge road victories. Villareal on the other hand started this season on a crazy run, only losing once in something like 22 games, however, they hit a sort of midseason slump and had a stretch of about 5 poor performances. Recently, it appears that they have returned to their old form and they are simply the more talented team here playing at home in Spain, they will be going balls to the wall to get the win.
Bayern Munich (Germany) @ Sporting Lisbon (Port):
Draw +220
Most people would quickly point to Munich in this matchup as they were the top team during the group stages of this event, but have since lost their momentum especially in the German League, where they have struggled mightly as of late. Munich is the better team on paper and boast famous international player Jurgen Klinsman as their head coach. Sporting is has long been the second best team in Portugal behind Port (playing yesterday) but have seen a revival of late with their new young head coach. They will play inspired in front of the home crowd tonight and they know if they don't at least tie they will be finished in the 2nd leg in Germany. I don't think Sporting can quite pull the upset, but I like them to get the result. Also, Munich's number one scoring threat, Luca Toni is not 100%.
Liverpool (England) @ Real Madrid (Spain):
Real Madrid -.5 (+110)
This is by far the most intriguing matchup of the Round of 16 in this competition. Liverpool, while consistently falling short of Manchester United and Chelsea in the English League have gained a strong reputation of doing very well in European Competition. However, they have not been the same team as of late and have had to deal with a few injuries that will make it very tough for them to travel to Spain and grab a road victory or any result for that matter. On the other hand Real Madrid is the hottest team in the world right now winners of 9 in a row in the Spanish La Liga. They have the most talented lineup in the world in my opinion and they will relish this opportunity to grab a big win in a big tournament in front of the home crowd. Liverpool coach Rafa Benitez is a genius and will certainly have Liverpool in a position to get a result, but I just believe there is too much talent on Madrid. This is my POD and good value here as you have to risk no juice.
