I don't bet games in which both teams have yet to play, but there are a few game 1 angles that I want to pass on to you. The most prevalent trend in opening games is the UNDER. In games in which both teams are opening their season, the Under is 96-63-1 since 1990, including 9-3 Under last season. The best part of that angle is playing under in non-division games when the home team is favored and the Over/Under total is greater than 181. The record in that scenario is 46-19 Under. That angle would apply to tonight's Phoenix at San Antonio game (if the total stays higher than 181) and the Dallas at Lakers game.

Teams that weren't that good last year tend to open poorly at home and are poor bets unless they are getting at least 4 points. In game 1 (for both teams) home teams that won 38 or fewer games the previous season (or 23 or less games in the strike shortened 98/99 season) are just 9-23 ATS if they are an underdog of less than 4 points or favored. That angle could apply on Wednesday against Chicago, Toronto, and New York - depending on the pointspreads.

It seems if lines are dropping below 181 so jump on fast

Wouldn't the following games apply to the under trend tonight:

              Minnesota/Under 194
              Chicago/Under 186
              Sacramento/Under 196.5

                NY Knicks +2

I like the New - New York Knicks with the 2 new big guys catching a basket vs. T-Mac and the new Magic.

The best part of that angle is playing under in non-division games when the home team is favored and the Over/Under total is greater than 181. The record in that scenario is 46-19 Under. That angle went 2-0 last night as both the Phoenix at San Antonio and Dallas at LA Lakers games when Under.Tonight that angle has the Under in the Milwaukee at Minnesota game and Washington at Chicago game.

Teams that weren't that good last year tend to open poorly at home and are poor bets unless they are getting at least 4 points. That angle could apply tonight against Chicago, Toronto, and New York (on Washington, New Jersey, and Orlando).

Teams that were bad the year before and then lose their opener aren't that likely to bounce back in game two on the road and Miami qualifies in a negative 15-33-2 ATS situation based on that premise. So, I'll lean with Boston over Miami tonight.
