Hornets: New Orleans opened a three-game road trip with a 104-97 victory at Dallas on Wednesday and hopes to knock off the Cavs to complete a sweep of the regular-season series. The Hornets know they can beat Cleveland - winning the last three meetings - including a 104-92 victory at home back on November 1st. “We’re looking forward to the challenge,” New Orleans reserve center Hilton Armstrong said. “We like the competition. Going in there knowing they haven’t lost is going to be a lot for us, especially if we give them their first loss. It’s going to be fun.”

The Magic also set an NBA record in their latest win at Sacramento on Tuesday, sinking 23 shots from beyond the arc. “No disrespect to the other team, but we’re excited about getting the record, an NBA record,” Orlando point guard Jameer Nelson said. “Everyone is going to have trouble guarding the 3 against us because Dwight (Howard) is so tough to stop in the middle.”

Detroit Pistons at Oklahoma City Thunder (+4, 188.5)

After rattling off seven straight triumphs, Detroit has stalled. It is 1-5 straight up and 2-3 against the spread in its last five overall.

It could get worse before it gets better. Detroit travels to Oklahoma City to face the vastly improved Thunder Friday.

Oklahoma City has won two of its last three and is 8-2 ATS in its last 10.

Kevin Durant was the antagonist in the Thunder’s 21-point win over the Utah Jazz Wednesday. Durant scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds. But recently signed forward Nenad Krstic has been the difference maker in Oklahoma City.

Krstic had 14 points and 11 rebounds against Utah.

“I’m feeling better and better stepping on the court,” Krstic told reporters. “When you play tough defense and they miss shots, you have a chance to get rebounds.”

In five outings, Krstic is averaging 10 points and five boards. He is also shooting 49 percent from the field.

Oklahoma City has covered the number in five of its last six against the Pistons. It is 21-6 ATS in its last 27 overall.

New Orleans Hornets at Cleveland Cavaliers (-5, 185.5)

What do you get when put LeBron James and Mo Williams on the same club? You get the best record in the NBA.

James and Williams have only been playing together for half a season but the combination has proven successful for the Cavaliers.

In their last 10 overall, the Cavs are 8-2 SU. At 19-0, the Cavaliers are still undefeated at home and are 15-4 ATS in that period.

On Tuesday, James and Williams combined to score 46 points in a victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. James also notched his second triple-double of the campaign with 30 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.

“I was taking what the defense gave me in the first half,” James told reporters. “I play the game the right way. I let the game come to me. I took advantage of it in the third quarter.”
