Did anyone hear is comment when the USC snap went over the punters head and PSU had a miraculous chance at the back door cover? He said "everyone in Nevada is on their feet now". I know this isnt the first time he has made comments in reference to gambling and dont get me wrong I think the guy is awesome and its hillarious that he actually wagers on games he announces but I have a question. How does ESPN or whatever other broadcast company he announces for allow him to say BLATENTLY OBVIOUS comments like this in reference to SPORTS GAMBLING so freely when I am sure the networks are anti-gambling are they not? Either way its too funny hearing him shoot these comments in every game he announces you can tell who he bet on.

Brent Limburger is a windbag. The only time they show him talking out of his mouth is when the camera is on him, the rest of the time they tape a mic to his ass cause thats where he talks out of it most.

As far as ESPN, they are the biggest gambling culprit of them all. They show lines for NFL games across their ticker; they have Da Burgermeister Berman throwing out his picks, they have that great Hank "I couldnt pick a winner if they told me the score" Goldberg tossing off his losers. And what about the NFL, NBA , NHL and College Sports TV packages ?? Do you think they put them on for everyone to buy because everyone is interested in 'their' teams?? Hell No !! They know how much bettors like to watch games they bet on and what a better way to market it.

Just because he knows the line and talks about it dont mean he bets on the game. Havent you learned your lesson about ASSUMING?

Al Michaels references the lines in just about SNF every game toward the end (maybe not as blatant as Musberger did last night though). They know what the a large % of the public is interested in...

Yea good point ESPN loves Musberger because its all about money and this must bring better ratings. I guess they are pro gambling because thats what people want to see...

I think Musburger ought to retire;he will be 70 this year, and frankly I am sick of watching and listening to him.
On the other hand, perhaps he needs to continue to work so that he can continue to gamble on a big scale;rumor has it that he is a big LOSER when it comes to this stuff.

I was just about to post the same thing about Al...he does it all the time also. I don't see the harm. Brent even went so far as to talk about all 4 home teams being underdogs this weekend in the NFL.

I have a bigger issue with Brent being on these games in the first place...he is awful!

I remember years ago they experimented with no announcers.

Thats what they should do in all broadcasted sports, (except WWE wrestling ) just let us watch the damn game and listen to the crack of the bat, the jarring tackle, the fans screaming on a great play.

On a side note, if I was a Bus Driver, I would always be on the lookout for Tim McCarver crossing the street.

Everyone knows the lines these days. Every week "Mike & Mike" on ESPN picks the games against the spread. The public wants to hear some insight and it will continue to happen as long as people bet.

With the score 38-24 during the last minutes of the game I swear I heard 1 of the announcers say something to the effect of "This is a close game".
With Penn St +10 and in scoring position yes. Hmm.

Also did anyone see Sarkisian's expression, like we better not blow the cover?

This is great. Al Michaels and Mike Tirico do the exact same thing.
