At least the championship would be decided on the field...

I can think of several. USC gets so much hype it make me want to

I can think of one team, Oregon State! Oh..maybe Florida or Oklahoma might......just might have a chance.

In my opinion, the two best teams playing the best at the end of the regular season, on both sides of the ball, were Florida and USC. Just my opinion.

And Kaptain, you're not that old cause I remember those guys too !!! (Stabler, Spurrier, etc.)
And the bowls were MUCH MUCH better then. I think the BCS tried to fix something they thought was broke and just did more damage.

The bottom line for all the bowls, and I don't care what anyone else says, but the bottom line is MONEY !!!
All these bowls are now named after sponsors and the more bowls, the more TV revenue for the sponsors.
It has diluted the games and made them less attractive.

The problem is that they invite the champs of conferences that blow chunks. These two teams should be playing in the Poulin-Weedeater Bowl and not the Orange....

The Big East champ should play in the Champ Sports Bowl and the ACC champ should play in the Humaitarian Bowl. the top 3 or 4 temas form the SEC and Big 12 are btter than these two teams.....

Unfortunately, it's all about the money....Plain and simple. Spread the games out and make more money on the TV revenue. More games on one day, means less watching because you can only watch one at a time.....

It's the same thing with a playoff.....One BSC game for all the marbles means less money compared to 5 BSC games with each having their own 'bowl championship' label.
