I Miss the Good 'Ol Days....

I have to say, today sucks. I miss the good ol days when there were 8 or 9 games, four on at a time, all top teams played and great games all over. Today was brutal...South Carolina should never have been in a bowl game, forget New Year's Day. And they get blown out by a mediocre Iowa team. And the Big Ten should be banned from playing after 12/31. But, seriously, more unranked teams playing today, and shitty games, than I can ever recall. And the one's that do have ranked teams, like Va Tech and Cincy, I can't get excited over and will be asleep by halftime.

I agree, I used to camp out in the living room with food and drink for all day on New Years Day, had two tvs going and it was awsome. Today, I ran errands and walked the dog

It used to be great...my buddy (kkvend) and I used to go to the supermarket every New Year's morning at 9am...we used to get lectured every year by the same woman for not pre-hording a wedge...we would grab 2 3' italin rolls and have them loaded up, would get back home by 10:30, place our wages and that was it...12+ hours of football and friends...it was great!

Just like you, I went out and did some stuff too! I would have never even thought of doing errands 6 or 7 yrs ago. So sad....

I agree. The old days were more fun. I use to party all New Years Eve and recover early in the morning to start all over again eating, drinking, betting, etc. We use to have pools on every game and side bets and stuff. Now, we don't even get together. It sucks !!!

INDEED----those were the days......Load up the Kitchen w/ snacks/booze, sometimes GRILL, chips and dip up the ass, friends, a bunch of em, all piled up, sitting everywhere, wives would leave house, it was a time for the MEN of the family to enjoy.....

Days when the #1 rivalry was LSU/OLE MISS.....Blood bath games.....

OKLAHOMA/NEB rivalry, many times for the National championship....

MIAMI U Canes were bad ass....Florida w/Spurrier at QB, ALA w/ Snake Stabler at QB, the Earl Campbells, Gale Sayers, Larry Csonka, Archie Griffin, OJ, et al, giving us some pretty damn exciting games.....

Too many to mention to give credit to all......
