  • Screw the BCS

I'm tired of watching the Trojans demolish the Big Ten every year in the Rose Bowl. These guys have been good enough to play for the championship the last few seasons. This is getting old. USC is just too fast for the Nittnany Lions. Recievers running by the Penn St defenders and running backs exploding through the holes. USC is at a different talent level. The Pac 10 is now 5-0 in bowls and every one on east coast has said the conference was weak.

This PSU defense is getting demolished and let's be honest, this USC offense isn't that great.

They look pretty quick to me. Just running by defenders. Something about USC when the get more than one week to prepare for a game.

I agree that USC is VERY strong. However, when I went to look at who the Pac-10 was playing in their bowl games I was not impressed with their competition. Not to take anything away from them either because they have no conrtol over who they are matched up against. Am I missing something? I guess what I am asking is this, if you are comparing conferences in bowl performance should you or should you not consider bowl stregth i.e. strength of opponent to determine that value.

BIG 10 sucks no doubt.I'm waiting on the first big 10 fan to complain that it's like a home game every year for USC.They could play in Joe Pa's backyard and USC would win by 30

Basically what I'm saying is screw these automatic conference bids to certain bowl games. Would have much rather seen USC vs Texas or Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

I know what you mean but fact is they lost to a team that Penn State absolutely destroyed. You dont want to be in the Rose Bowl playing Penn State, then beat Oregon State. But you do make a good point. I went against them today, dumbly, even knowing their success against the Big 10. They are making a real good PSU team look bad here. Men vs. Boys. Today anyway.

I was going to say, don't blame the BCS for this. The Big 10 and the Pac 10 have this contract which forces us to see this every year LOL
Please don't question my record or I will leave!!!!

I know Penn St is geting drubbed, but the officiating in this game is atrocious.

PSU's QB just got hit 5 secs after he threw the ball and no penalty.

Only thing I'd disagree with is that Penn State is a really good team. The play in an awful conference, so how good are they? Apparently not very good when they face a really good team.

How about USC in Texas or Florida in a bowl game, then we will see how really good they are.

They were good for a half and almost gave the cover up at the end.

And USC plays to get in this every year, so they can play in front of their home crowd.
I can't understand to this day, why there isn't a clause in this bowl that made the game play every other year on a Big 10 field.

Too cold this time of the year in big 10 country unless played in a dome. The Tournament of Roses Parade has a connection to the Rose Bowl is a big reason.
