  • I'd like to congratulate the Atlanta Falcons

on clinching a playoff spot today.

Incredible. Last year this team was in utter shambles. Still recovering from the sudden departure of Vick, that douchebag Petrino literally left under the dark of night, putting this franchise at one of its all time lows. They had Joey Harrington, Byron Leftwich, and Chris Redman at QB. A terrible offensive line, no RBs, etc. Every expert had this team pegged as the #30, #31, or #32 team in the league coming into this year, and 3-13 was about the most optimistic projection.

10-5.......likely 11-5 facing the sorry ass Rams next week, and in the playoffs. As a long time Bird fan, I say Bravo to Blank for hiring Dimitroff away from the Patriots, Dimitroff for hiring Mike Smith, and to all that traded for Michael Turner, and drafted Matt Ryan. Amazing what some competent pieces can do.

We must have been starting our threads at the same time. What a turnaround is all I got to say.Going to the game Sunday against the Rams and even though we wont see the starters long,I can't wait to hear the ovation when they introduce the starters. It's going to be wild

That team has an amazingly bright future. And go back just one year, how bad that organization must have been feeling with the Vick situation. And not just to turn it around, but to turn it around so quickly. Whoever made the final call on Ryan should get a raise because it was like getting two top picks because all of a sudden, Roddy White is a pro bowl quality receiver this year.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself BUT if we can beat St Louis and somehow Carolina loses AT New Orleans the Falcons would win the division and get a first roud bye.How huge would that be

New Orleans wants to kick Carolina's ass. Don't know if it will happen but they want to. Payton was on the radio yesterday after the Detroit game and the 2 things the Saints want is to be beat Carolina and finish 9-7 and to get Brees the passing record. I hope they do for Atlanta's sake.

Just think how good the Falcons would be with Michael Vick

Gotta give Matt Ryan - Rookie of the Year

Other than Ben Rothesberger, I dont remember a QB coming in and handling a position as tough as QB this well. I defer to QBs since RB position is more on athleticism. QB is so hard to learn.

The biggest question is what will happen next year? Is it gonna flip? Best to worst?

But yes, ATL is sick this year. They have covered like a mother for me in like 4 games. I love teams that make me money.

Ryan looks like a vet and Roddy is a killer WR. And they said Vick had no receivers...

Vick never threw many catchable balls. Now Ryan seems to be able to throw some touch passes along with threading the needle when he has to.I think ATL will be good for a while.Turner and Norwood getting the calls in the backfield and Jenkins,White and Finnerin as WR should be solid every year.

I don't think you are getting that far ahead. Remember, no NFC South team has lost a home game all year when facing another NFC South team. Amazing stat, but not one loss all year against a division opponent. To take it a step further, regardless of opponent the NFC South teams have a combined home record of 26-3 The next best divison record at home is the NFC East at 22-9. The Saints are 6-1 at home.
