Great day in the college baskets today, a 4-0 sweep, all games covering the spread by double digits. Missed my only hockey selection.
I rarely bet on the Giants, them being my team and never bet against them. In 14 games this year, I have not been involved in a side play on a Giants game and have taken just one total and it was on MNF so I had some action. But that trend is changing Sunday.

My record in the NFL sucks. It has been my nemesis all season. But this game is here for the taking and I am jumping on it. I dont care about stats in this one. The Giants for the better part of two seasons have thrived on proving the doubters wrong. What they perceived as a lack of respect. It helped carry them through a Superbowl winning campaign last year and even into this year as the season started out with sentiments such as the Patriots "lost" the SB, rather than the Giants won it. Then they start 11-1 and they are being called the best team in the NFL. They run into a desperate Philly team and lose convincingly, far more convincingly than the 20-14 score indicates. Following that a loss in Big D to a Dallas team with more distractions than a (insert pun here, its late and Im drawing a blank.) Well following that debacle, a game which boiled down to the fact that the Giants were playing for next to nothing, sat out players who could have play and looked lethargic in doing so, all we read in the NY papers was that they are "done". And now not only are the Giants not the best in the NFL, they are not even the best team in their conference. That title now belongs to the Carolina Panthers, yes, the team that is visiting a windy and cold East Rutherford, NJ this week for a primetime matchup under the snowy Giants Stadium lights. I am here to say that this team is not down and out like the NY media would like you to believe. Is not as heavily burdeoned by Plaxico's departure either. I am here to say that when push comes to shove this team will get it done and will in a big way Sunday night. Dont call it a homer pick because if thats how I played the NFL then it wouldnt have taken me until week 16 to click the little dot next to line 122. This is a great spot for this team with a ton of line value after Carolina's trouncing of a pathetic Denver Broncos team at home last week. They are running the ball well but Delhomme is playing poorly. But the Giants know a little something about running the ball and stopping the run themselves. Carolina used last week to get this game to a winner take all situation. The Giants were already there going into the Sunday night game. I have a feeling the cappers here on BC are going to be kind of split on this one, but I am taking the home team in what I believe will be a statement game not unlike a game a few weeks ago against Baltimore, a NYG 30-10 victory. Good luck everyone.
