I think this will be a very one sided crowd and a home game for Central. FAU seems to have almost zero support for this one and i don't know how excited they are to be here. I think Central could Roll FAU.

Check out this story below and you will see how "Little" support FAU has in this Bowl game ............

Detroit harder for FAU than Big Easy

By Scott Travis | South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Last year, Florida Atlantic University football fans had all the makings of a great party: a victorious first bowl game in New Orleans, a warm climate, cheap travel packages and Bourbon Street.

This year, they get Detroit the day after Christmas.

Fans are happy that the FAU Owls secured their second consecutive bowl bid this year, as they take on Central Michigan on Dec. 26 in the Motor City Bowl. But they say it won't compare to last year, when FAU, the 2007 Sun Belt conference champs, defeated the University of Memphis at the New Orleans Bowl. About 5,000 fans cheered them on inside the Louisiana Superdome.

This year, the timing, the costs and the blustery location likely will result in a smaller and more subdued crowd, fans predict. The band and dance team aren't going, and it's still up in the air whether any cheerleaders will go.

Last year, FAU offered $650 charter flight, hotel and ticket packages. Student government offered a bus package for $94 per student. Neither are being offered this year because of the timing of the game, the distance and the economy.

"Detroit's going to be tricky," said Eric Shaw, an FAU alum and marketing professor who leads the Faculty Senate. "Students last year wanted to get the New Orleans experience. There's not much of a Detroit experience. Almost everything that was in our favor about New Orleans is working against us for Detroit."

So far, about 1,300 tickets have been sold, but the vast majority were donations that will go to youth groups and military personnel in the Detroit area, said Dexter Lamont, assistant athletic director. President Frank Brogan launched a challenge to alumni, businesses and supporters to buy tickets to raise money for the team to travel.

Last year, the New Orleans Bowl was on Dec. 21, giving students, fans and alumni who celebrate Christmas plenty of time to be home with their families. But some fans said this year's game, on Dec. 26, falls smack in the middle of their holiday plans.

"I would go, even though it's in Detroit, even though it's in the middle of winter," said Bobra Bush of Boca Raton, who has bachelor's and master's degrees from FAU. "But I'm going home to Rochester, N.Y., for the holidays, and I'll still be there the day of the game."

Bush said she'll try to find a sports bar to watch the game, which will be televised on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. It's the only bowl game on that day, so FAU officials are hoping for a big TV audience even if they can't get much of a crowd inside Detroit's Ford Field.

Still, the Owls will have some fans to root them on, even if they're not crazy about spending part of their holidays in Detroit.

I read lots of articles about teams when capping games buddy. I don't know why but i like to get a feel for games and the only way i know how is to read about them. Obviously it doesn't always work but the best way to get a feel for teams is to read articles from their local newspapers. I never post them but this one stuck out to me a little. CMU is happy to be playing a home Bowl game here and FAU isn't even bringing cheerleaders or the Band maybe? To a freakin' Bowl game??Just seems like one team doesn't care about being here (IMO).

          GL Buddy!

GL Wayne with Cent Mich I agree with the logic behind the pick. No disrespect to Detroit but I cant see anyone from Florida being excited about spending the day after Christmas in Detroit

And this total keeps climbing and climbing. If in fact there is a lackadasical malaise over this team, then the under is getting more appealing to me. And of course CMU. I may play a teaser also involving the Chips and the under. And Im glad you posted this particular article. I love reading this shit. Same reason as you I suppose. Thanks again.

GL as always boss... this is my 34 point play in one of those confidence bowl pools so I planned on stepping out on UNC already.

Give me Butch Davis over the reincarnation of Larry Coker any day... and points as well? I accept.

                          Hopefully we both cash bigtime.
