G'day, BC! Yesterday was "meh". I went 1-1. My NHL perfect record was taken to a shootout where I was just on the wrong side... But it did take a shootout... if it was a blowout then I'd feel bad. Northern Colorado was smooth sailing... Today, let's build off of that. I got a lot of plays, but I'm gonna see how these do before laying out anymore:
Central Michigan +7
Senior F-C Marcus Van and the Chips got on the winning track in the beginning of a 4 game home stand in Mt. Pleasant. Van was dismissed for violated team rules, but after gauging that "he now knows what it takes to be a student-athlete" he was let back on the team. Methinks it was also due to their 2-4 start. They lost the game he debuted in, but won their last one. I feel the chemistry becoming stronger, and I just get the feeling that they are going to do everything in their power to right the ship at home and try to get back above .500. They can start right here with an Illinois State team who hasn't beaten anyone! Furthermore, this is just the type of game a road favorite from the Missouri Valley Conference would go a lose (or not cover in this case). Go get 'um, Chips!
Toronto +3 (B 1/2)
Putting the NBA perfect mark on the line here. If you can actually get 3 without buying the hook, you are lucky. For this game two words: Eric Dampier
... And now after saying that, watch him go off... But seriously, Eric Dampier, Jason Kidd and George... This ain't 2001, Dawg! I also question Josh Howard's health. Sure, he's getting eased back into things but how healthy is he? That will be answered tonight. Bottom line: During there 7-game December home stand, they did go 5-2 (look who they beat), but what is alarming is that they are giving up 101.8 ppg! And that was at home, where you shoot better. That's putting immense pressure on your offense. And they are going from 70 degree Dallas weather to freezing Toronto, who is sporting a decent frontline in shot-blocking O'Neal and team-scoring leader Bosh... Back the Raps!
(Yes, I am aware they play the game indoors
... But it's all about being comfortable...)
Good luck to you all! Gonna grab some lunch! Be back with more!!! Have fun, BC!
