  • ESPN is pathetic-

    Watching NFL primetime right now.......

Trey Wingo and Trent Dilfer screaming over eachother about tonights game.

You would think the Eagles just won the super bowl, and Mcnabb just got inducted into Canton.

They beat THE BROWNS, relax a little. ESPN is just overhypes everything nowadays, and they are getting worse and worse.

McNabb is a sharp dude... Definitely one of the better quarterbacks in the entire league... look at what he did for the Syracuse program... He's the only person on the planet that can say he won at the 'cuse... He lead his team to countless NFC Championships and aside from T.O. (who will be the reason the Cowboys fall short again this year) he hasn't had anyone to throw to with the exception of Westbrook... And quit doggin' the worldwide leader... You'll be tuned in tomorrow...

Sorry. I don't mean to disagree with you on your thread, but we ain't here for affirmation, we're here to keep it real... You'll be watching ESPN tomorrow... or going on ESPN.com... sheesh... And I'm not an Eagles fan *ahem* Lions

First, regarding ESPN. Yes, I'll be tuned in tonight and tomorrow. That's because it's our only option. During football season I watch NFL network over ESPN. In many ways ESPN is great. In some ways it FUCKING SUCKS. They have too much air time to fill. They ram the same shit down our throats over and over again.

Regarding McNabb. He's an above average QB. One of the reasons he went to 'countless' NFC championship games was due to a weak NFC. He also lost all but one of those countless games including some where his performance was sub-par. IMO the biggest knock on McNabb is his inconsistency. He'll put together a string of great games. He'll also put together some games that'll leave a fan scratching their heads.

OH but ESPN has superior programming? On NFL Live last night their first 10 minutes of the show was on the Dallas/TO/Romo soap opera. It's a 30 MINUTE show. There were 15 other games. I'm tired of some of their programming. I'm tired of the same news stories getting jammed down my throat. MNF football is unwatchable due to Tony Korndick. Their MNF pre-game and postgame show are worse. Stuart One-eye Scott is a wannabee thug. It's obvious the Steve Young dislikes Scott.

All that being said. I'll take NFL networks lower budget shows over ESPN for NFL coverage.

BTW. NFL Networks draft show is far superior to ESPN's and ESPN's draft guru Mel Kiper. Mike Mayock blows away Kiper. It's not even close.

ESPN has way too many personal or party-line agendas, the motivation for which I am often unclear. Frank's right. They try hard to jam particular perspectives down our throats, ad nauseum.

The same thing happened in last night MNF football pregame show with Stuart Scott and Steve Young. At one point Scott admitted he was going to talk over Young.

Yeah, 'we're not gonna take it!' Look, I was merely trying to point out was that ESPN gets massive ratings... If people were so tired of the stories, both the stories and the ratings would go away, but it is proven that ESPN's getting bigger and bigger and bigger... But everyone loves breaking news, gossip, drama (look at this forum)... Maybe not you, but then again there is a reason they are on TV and you're on a message board...

Secondly, yes, there were 15 other games, but do you really want them talking Dolphins/ 49er's... Or how about the compelling Buffalo Bills.... sprinkle in some profound Raiders' football? If you want your ratings to go into the tank, then by all means... But ESPN knows what gets ratings... They know what makes money... It's the Cowboys, Patroits, Steelers, Colts, Giants, Eagles...

It's just my opinions backed up by Coors Light Cold Hard facts... Don't get so angry about this and start ripping my clever name... I joined this forum to have fun, try to post winners, and at times RESPECTFULLY disagree... Have a nice day, bud

I do not mean any disrespect, as I played as my brother (PSU) and we know several pro players. If close they get paid, extra 30 - 50 grand playoff money a little differerent.

Molta, wouldnt it be great to see some competition against espn.

Wait a minute, NBC has Sunday night football, in which we have have enviornmental takes and see Keith Blowhardman and the rest of those idiots

On any of these sports shows, I cant stand all the former players trying to act smart and all the non-player nerds trying to act tough
                              NBA is a joke
