Friday night shaping up to be a split out type night. So far 1-2 in NBA with Lakers over pending. 2-2 in NCAA with a tough loss with Drake as they were covering the whole second half and got backdoored with 15 seconds left and 2-1 in NHL where I am starting to feel it a bit. No hype here though just what I think are solid winning plays being above .500 (18 games) in 4 sports and just below in the NFL and looking to change that Sunday. With regards to NCAA I have been playing and posting nightly, but I havent yet dove into a Saturday card like I am this Saturday. I am posting some now and will come back later to post more as I think this could prove to be a profitable card.
That being spoken, here is what I like:
523 Butler +9 (-115)
These guys are solid dogs. OSU is coming off two great victories as doggies themselves, but this Butler squad is an impressive bunch who smacked around OSU last year. Look for them to keep this real close with an excellent chance at an outright win.
536 Kansas -18
Kansas hasnt won a home game by less than 20 points since the first game of the season. UMass lost by 22 at Memphis and hasnt beaten a 1A team yet this year and havent covered any lined games either. I dont see that streak being broken against a defensively sound Kansas team (allowing 36% fg pct) that can light up the scoreboard on any given day. 18 certainly isnt a small number, but I think this matchup warrants a bigger one and since they are allowing me to lay just 18, I will grab the opportunity to back the KU.
538 Miami, Oh -15
Miami's 3 ATS losses this year were to top 15 teams. They are riding a 3 game winning streak in which they are outscoring opponents by 23 ppg including a 16 point victory at Temple as a 6 point dog. Valpo by contrast has lost 5 of 6, having played no top 15 teams or teams even close to being ranked. They are coming off a 17 pt home loss to 4-5 IUPU-Ft Wayne and also lost to 3-5 Iona by 20 in that span. Miami is arguably the best team they have played so far, has played a much tougher schedule, is 6-1 ATS this season and is shooting 44% from 3 point range compared to Valpo's 29% and the Redhawks get it done here.
541 Indiana +16 1/2
Seems like an awful lot of points to me for Kentucky to be laying an Indiana team playing a little better of late staying within the number vs Gonzaga. Two of Kentucky's last three opponents have been cupcakes and the one that wasnt beat them SU and ATS. I will take the points here.
Back later with more NCAA, NBA and, of course, NHL.
Good luck everyone!!!
