I read on another site that they purposely gave out the wrong play to some of the consensus sites that they suspected were giving out their selections free. ASA claims that their correct play is monitored at whatever monitoring service they use.

        ASA

I've been a customer of ASA for 5 years now and know them well. I called them on this situation and they told me that they gave a phony number to the Brian Mac's of the world to throw off people getting their Game of the Year for free from these places. Their paying customers along with the Sports Monitor all got the correct game.

Go to their website, www.asawins.com, as it lists the game on their home page.

            ASA

i mean it's an asshole move but i don't think it is that bad truthfully.they are trying to stop concensus sites from selling their picks...their paying members all got the right play so to them that is all that matters.

i was on michigan anyway so i guess i got lucky

i dont know if I buy the bullshit explanation but I know Brian Mac is either full of shit or cant do math when he says his record is 10-5 for 75 percent winners. that is a good record but only 67 percent winners

I would tend to agree with Brian Mac in this instance, as he has been exposing these types of services for the years I have followed him.

                  ASA

                  Big Dog,

So ASA is giving out bad info to guys who in turn sell their picks and make a profit and that makes them con men? I guess I don't follow that logic. What if you were in a similar situation and had your own business and someone else was taking advantage of it for profit. Would let it go or react in a similar way to ASA?

Like I said earlier, I've been a customer and they have always been up front and fair with me when I talk to them. I know I am getting the correct picks each week because I am a paying customer. If you want to take a chance of getting incorrect picks by not signing up directly with them, that is your decision. If in turn, they want to "dupe" other services who are profiting from them, I guess I have no problem with that.

P.S. They have definitely struggled on their big plays this year, however the last 3 seasons have been phenomenal so I'm willing to give them an off year. We'll see if it pans out for me or not.

I called Brian Mac's comp.line this morning, heard the taped conversations, and agree that ASA owes either an apology and/or explanation to clear up doubts.
As stated unless ASA can dispel the doubts to satisfaction of Brian Mac in such a way that he (Brian) will retract his statement, I myself will view this as a con job and/or a case where a service got its hand caught in the cookie jar.

                      ASA

As I said earlier, the actual Game of the Year winner is posted on their internet site, www.asawins.com. Do you think they could post this game for the world (and their customers) to see if they had released another game to some of their clients? Again it was simply an attempt to "dupe" people who in turn give out their games for free as Brian Mac does.

I don't know Brian Mac and have never talked to him however I do find it odd that a number of people feel as though he is an honest and revered service. He might be however I have my reservations due to the fact that he posts everyone else's games for free while selling his service plays. He is in essence doing to them what he wouldn't want done to himself. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be too receptive to the idea of someone else posting his pay games for free for the world to listen to, thus losing customers.

Maybe I'm off base but that seems off base to me.

The problem I have with ASA is not that they tried to safeguard their pick, but that they deliberately disseminated a pick they hoped would lose.

"Those of you who try to get our picks from other sources got a "bogus" game. Unfortunately that game also covered. We will continue to mislead these scam outfits and do our best to protect our paying customers.

They were pursuing a strategy that is trying to inflict damage on people. This is not a strategy to safeguard its to hurt those that leak.

It is possible that innocent customers will get nailed by their bogus plays, because they are guessing who of their subscriber sthat buy their picks are the ones disseminating that pick. They have to guess and that means it is highly likely an 'innocent' customer is going to get the bogus pick.

Who can have confidence that the picks they are getting from ASA is the right pick.

                          ASA

I actually wondered about that myself and asked them when I called for a response on this situation. They assured me that they were 100% sure who this person was and would not give out any "false" pick to a person if they weren't absolutely positive using whatever process they used. I guess I have to believe them since the "false" game was picked up by Brian Mac and other free and pay sites. That leads me to believe they got the right guy.

Plus each week I get their newsletter (mailed and online) basically reviewing the previous week and it states their record the games they used, etc... thus I would think it would be impossible for them to "fudge" games to certain clients.

They cannot be a 100% sure if they are directing some people to the bogus number period. What is a 100% in this world? Nothing

For them to say that makes me think they are even more disreputable than I initially thought.

                              ASA

Just telling you what they told me. Again, I don't know what process they used but their 100% sure claim must have been right at least in this situation as the fake play showed up with the free and pay consensus sites. That tells me they knew who the person was in this particular situation.
