  • Greg Sam Oden Bowie

Is Oden going to go down as another monstrous Blazers draft bust?

Can he keep himself healthy? He missed all of last year and lasted all of two quarters last night before going down and may be out awhile. This all seems familiar. In the worst draft decision in this history of sports, the Blazers passed up Michael Jordan with the second pick to take Sam Bowie. Bowie spent most of his career on the DL.

This time the Blazers passed on Kevin Durant and Al Horford to take a guy who has played 20 minutes in two years. It may be too early to write off Oden but the signs are very bleak.

Agreed Gris. I was thinking the same thing today. If you remember when he came to Ohio State he sat out the first 10 games or so because of a hand injury. So this is really three straight years he has opened the year with some type of injury.

He might be one of those people who age quickly, I don't know what the disease is,,,but I do know he looks every bit of 43. There is a guy that sits down at the corner tavern that looks just like him.

Guy is a walking band aid....I haven't seen this guy the same way since I heard he wanted to be a doctor and not a hooper growing up, I know god forbid an athlete wanted to do something other than play ball but I really feel like this guy lacks the passion to be a star.

I hope he does well---he is a good kid and tough inside. I pretty much saw every game he played at Ohio State and wish him well. THe pattern of things though tells me otherwise. Hopefully he can turn it around and quit getting hurt.
