It was COMPLETELY clear that he didn't touch the ball, and there were several inches between the ball and any part of his body. The fucking ref called it a muffed punt, Eagles ball, game over. UNfortuantely the Falcons had used their timeouts on defense, so they had no timeouts to challenge the call. It was also just outside of two minutes, so no official review. Joke.
NFL needs to go to the way college does the reviews.
I agree, worst of the day as it directly affected Millions of dollars swung on that play. I just happend to be on the right end this time but these officials and the Umps in the WS have been a joke.
NBA is a joke

I know, how can anyone play defense any more?Originally posted by frankb03 View PostWOW. I saw the hilight of the interference call. That's arguably one of the worst calls I've seen. WTF did that ref see that warranted a penalty on that play? UNBELIEVABLE!
We might as well go to 2 hand touch.

That was horrible. They have got to come up with a way to make that right. The fucking ref that said it touched him was 30 yards awayOriginally posted by harold_bush View PostDude, you want to talk about a fucking joke of a call, my Falcons got hosed. Vol that's one of the things that infuriates me most. A ref 5 yards away from a play makes no call. Here comes a flag from another ref 30 yards away. WTF can a ref from 30 yards see that a ref 5 yards away misses?Originally posted by vols fan View PostThat was horrible. They have got to come up with a way to make that right. The fucking ref that said it touched him was 30 yards away

I've used this example many times. I was at the Manning/Manning Bowl in 2006. There was a crucial and controversial late offensive interference call against the Giants. I saw the ref throw the flag. He was in centerfield a good 25-30 yards from the play. The ref 5 yards from the play didn't throw a flag.

I record NFL Total Access every Wednesday at 7 just to watch Mike Pereira's Official Review segment. He justifies every bad call no matter how blatant. Then when it's obvious it's a bad call he uses his catch phrase. I like how Rich Eisen at times doesn't allow him off the hook.Originally posted by molta02 View Posti've been saying it as long as i've been on this site, the nfl officiating is a fucking joke and they are never called out on it. and mike perera is an embarrassment and will never admit a mistake.

I saw it this weekend when a reciever caught a ball going out of bounds and the ref(who didn't have a good view of his hands 15 yards away) was watching his feet and called it a catch while the back ref saw it all and watched the ball being juggled out of bounds. The 2 refs argued for about 2 minutes and he finaly gave in and called it incomplete. These guys are pros and should be held more accountable for there actions.Originally posted by frankb03 View PostVol that's one of the things that infuriates me most. It's amazing how a multi-billion dollar sport is officiated by a bunch of incompetent bozos. Players risk serious injuries. They give their blood and guts while we have idiots determining the outcome of too many games due to total incompetence.

Marty/Frank B
I 100% agree....the game is way too fast for men in their 60's to keep up with....There may be a few rare exceptions, but overall, it's too tough for em.....Originally posted by jmarty6969 View Post60m yr old refs cant keep up woith the game i agree totally on that frank
besides, when you hit 60, you automaticly become Grumpy
according to some experts.....
They need to establish some type of Officiating school, train em, make em pass a test visualy and physicaly.....
ditto for NCAA......pay em more, as their decisions, can indeed keep you from a BCS Bowl, or a Super Bowl.....
Don't make me go Cajun on your Ass!

I watch that segment every week, Frank. I just have to laugh at how Perreira has an excuse for every horrbile call. SOmetimes he says it's the rule that made us call it that way. Sometimes he says the ref actually got it right. BULLSHIT! And then every once in a while, it's so obvious even HE can't lie, so he goes to that 99% bullshit. Fucking hate these rules we play with. Why can't we use replay on penalties? Give me one fucking good reason. You can't. Coaches should get 3 challenges a game and be able to use them on penalties, so refs can get a better view and correct their mistake. Some of these Pass Interference calls are so easy to correct when you see them on replay. Holding also. Please don't question my record or I will leave!!!!
