  • N.F.L. (and they thought they knew ? )

As reported by Mike Pereira the N.F.L.`s director of officiating qoute " this was not a mistake in judgement , it was a lack of knowledge on the crews fault " as he stated that they made a grave error in the Monday Nighter ( Indy vs. Tampa Bay ).

3:37 letf in the 4th. quarter 35 to 21 T.B. and Indys kicker Mike Vanderjagts onside kick sailed " in the air " and was caught by safety Idrees Bashir at Indys 42 yard line . Rule 10 , section 1 , article 4 states that the recieving team " must " be given the chance to catch any ball in the air , and it was . The fact that Tampa Bays reciever was taken out by a big hit by the other team should have resulted in a 15 yard penalty that would have given T.B. the ball at Indys 27 yard line ( 15 yds from the spot of the foul )

And the rest is history !

I guess I will add to my expectations today with a few more go-getters . My parlay is still alive with the Louisville over landing right where it should have for a change , the Dallas Stars done thier part as well . Now we need the Utah club & N. Texas to show up and complete the circuit , plus a outstanding Nevada wager . After looking over todays action we are going to go after Middle Tenn. St. - 4 ** } Ohio U. + 16 ** } Boston College - 3 ** } U.S.C. - 7 1/2 **

    1 More bundle play also , a 2 teamer with B.C. & Ohio U. *

T.C.U. - 10.5 might get some action after I see how lady luck treats me today .
