i was in the city last night watching the game with 1000's of others and it was amazing after the game to just watch people walk by you on the street and they are talking to themselves....believe me ive done enough of it in the last 12hours.......for me last night was the most heartbreaking defeat ive ever watched....last night was worse than 86'.....people are saying it was the worst loss in boston history...like someone who called into one of the local sports radio shows today....this team had many fans get caught up in the run of this team, people who arent diehard Sox fans (like my buddies)...today those people return to their normal lives...for the rest of us....we have endure that loss last night...it lingers...it doesnt go away....its like being at wake on the air waves today...people calling in about someone that died yesterday....that person being the redsox.......its really brutal...
as far as the pointing of the fingers go....
...here's my rant.....Grady Little shouldnt/will not be back as manager of this team next season...Pedro gives you 7 strong innings you have a 3run lead...like i heard on WEEI this morning..."Grady Little turned his back on the bullpen that got him to this game7...Grady Little turned his back on Alan Embree and his 0.00ERA...Grady Little turned his back on Mike Timlin and his 0.00ERA....Grady Little turned his back on Scott Williamson and his 1.13 ERA" What he was thinking is beyond me...when Pedro left the mound after the 7th inning he did his little tribute where he points to the sky b/c he didnt believe he was gonna be back out for the 8th inning...its really sad b/c this team genuinely like each other, this team will always been remembered by Red Sox fans this season b/c of the joy they have brought to their fans this season, and the increbible games they have played throughout the season.....its sad b/c they had all the pieces in place to win the WS this season....the lineup, the starting pitching and a bullpen that had become unhitable in the postseason.....its sad b/c in a perfect world Little goes to the pen for the 8th inning, the red sox win....had this happened last night, they would be building statues of these guys outside fenway park right now as i type....Pedro would have been praised for giving 7 solid innings of 2 run ball vs the evil empire in the face of 60,000 yankee fans....instead he's telling people not to blame Grady but to blame him for blowing the lead b/c he's the one on the field playing the game....its sad b/c who knows how much longer a guy like pedro will be able to pitch like this for....the guy doesnt have the build like a clemens to pitch for 20years...they came so close this season and his contract ends next season....
