    WORLD SERIES - Early Line

    SERIES PRICE: TB -130 / PHIL +110
Rays are only -130-wow! In terms of AL success in Interleague Play(here we go again) and particularly the Phil's 4-11 record, I would make the Rays about -170 if not -180.
Once the line is posted at my offshore, if the line is anywhere near the -130, I am going to make my biggest bet of the year in anything for the Rays to win it all.

Maybe the Phils are a decent team.

Yea dude that interleague record is bang on in terms of playing AGAINST THE PHILLIES? WTF do other teams that ARE NOT THE PHILLIES BUT JUST PLAY IN THE SAME LEAGUE have to do with the World Series? This is the stupidest thing I have ever read...

I am surprised he didn't pull out the fact that the AL has won like 8 straight All Star games too as that has played a factor in his reasoning as well!

Guys the Phillies went 4-11 this year against the Orioles and Angels. This stat tells everything about specifically the Phillies and why they will lose the world series...I am loading up on Tampa because of it..

My overall point is that win or lose, the Rays represent great value at minus $130.
If the Sox had won last night, what do you think the line would have been against the Phillies-$170, -$180, -$200, etc.?
People who call other people's posts stupid because they don't agree with their logic and yet on many occasions whose own posts have been trashed by many because they don't make sense, should question their own logic and thought processes before they question the validity and logic of others!

I would rather have bet on the AL in all of those games than chasing the NL and the same in Interleague Play for at least the last 5 years, where AL has blitzed the NL-afterall, isn't the prime intent of this forum to try to win money?

Savage, use any reasoning you want to decide who to wager on and to have others follow. If it makes sense to you, that is all that matters. We may no tagree on the logic you use to decide who will win but who cares? BOL with you play!

I agree, and Phils might win the series.
All I know is that I think there is great value on the Rays, and I think line should be higher.
Betting is all about perception and value, and I believe based on my criterion that Tampa is the play.
If Tampa were -180 or -190, I probably wouldn't bet them or anyone for that matter in the series; Phils have a very good team and I think it will be a 6 or 7 game series in any event.
                            Good luck to you too.

Congrats Charlie and all Rays fans!!!

I love "My" teams but i've always stated that i love sports as a whole 1st. The Rays are a GREAT story and as much as it hurt to see my Sox lose, i'm still very happy for the Rays and their fans. Being in the WS makes it a thousand times better than when your team is not, enjoy.

Charlie offered me a $50 wager with about 3 weeks left in the regular season. The bet was which team will go further in the playoffs. I was hoping they could come back and win the division ... that didn't happen. I was not happy playing Anaheim and thought they were done ... that didn't happen. It ended up being a head on battle and in a great 7 game series, the Rays pulled it out. I was happy the Sox showed some heart and fight in the series. I counted them down and out when they trailed 7-0 in the 7th inning of game 5. I posted a poll and truly thought it was over (It wasn't to jinx it). lol

Congrats Charlie and email me your addy for the $50. If you have Paypal, that works too!

                              One last time ...

                              Rays!

I think the Rays are flat out the best team in baseball. They proved it all year. They will continue to prove it. Rays pitching is too good. IMO game pressure effects pitchers much less than hitters.
