Chado's CFL Picks for Week 17!!! (36-16 Run Since Week 3!!!)
37-26 YTD for 2008 CFL season after a 1-10 start...
36-16 run since week 3...
Heres the break down for Week 17 in the CFL with only 3 regular season games remaining for each team:
Friday:
BC @ EDM -4:
BC had been on a roll ever since they went with Buck Pierce at QB over Jarious Jackson. But after back to back weeks of just barely squeaking out a win in Toronto and getting embarassed at home last week against Edmonton they put Jackson in mid way through the game. Their offense has looked brutal lately while Edmontons has been shining. They are starting to look like the shaky early season team again while Edmonton is hitting their stride. I rarely play the team who didnt cover the first game in the second game of the rematch but BC has not looked good. Both team are in a 3 way tie @ 9-6 for 2nd place in the Western division with only 3 games remaining. Tough game to call but should be a close great game to watch...the best one of week 17 for sure with huge implications for both teams...
Saturday:
MTL -8.5 @ TOR
Montreal has already clinched 1st place in the East and will host the Eastern Conference final. This game is 100% meaningless for them. The Argos lost a heart breaker last week against the Bombers and now need to win their last 3 games in a row while hoping the Bombers lose all of their 3. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Montreal has beaten and covered the Argos twice already this season and both games were blowouts. Toronto along with Hamilton are the two worst teams in the CFL this year and this game is all but meaningless for both teams. But with little to no meaning in this game for Montreal its hard to take them to romp them on the road and cover for the 3rd staright time against Toronto this season. Tough game to call...
WIN @ CGY -10.5
Winnipeg is sitting decent having pretty much clinched the 6th and final playoff spot (2nd in the East however so will host the East semi final against the West 4th place team) with Toronto and Hamilton the only two teams in the CFL who will be on the outside looking in. Calgary is leading the Western division @ 10-5 but only by one win over all 3 other teams who are tied for 2nd in a 3 way tie @ 9-6. Bottom line here is that Winnipeg getting not get any higher or lower that their playoff seed they are sitting in right now (unless they loss all 3 games and Toronto wins all 3 in which they wouldnt make the playoffs anf Toronto would). Big game for Calgary in order to maintain their command of getting the playoff bye to host the Western division final they control their own fate by winning out. Tight Western division playoff race a Calgary is 10-5 and 3 other Western team are ALL 9-6. Calgary will win this game but do they cover? Tough one too call...
HAM @ SSK -13.0
Hamilton is the only team in the CFL right now that is officially eliminated from playoff contention. This game is 100% meaningless for them. Saskatchewan on the other hand needs to get a win to keep pace with the three-way tie of 9-6 teams in the West. All 3 of these teams can fluctate 3 different seeds down the stretch here. Saskatchewan has looked shaky all year. They acquired Michael Bishop from Toronto mid-way through the season and he has shown signs of brightness and at other times has looked horrible. They have announced that he will be benched for this game after last weeks terrible performance in Calgary and are going with Darian Durant who is quite capable of getting the job done. Saskatchewan wins this game no doubt but 13 points? Seem pretty high but Hamilton has nothing to play for. Once again...tough one too call....
With all that being said its a very tough card this week. Therefore I have narrowed things down and I am only playing this one teaser and thats all...lets try this...

I may take Toronto tomorrow plus the points but still undecided...
